All musicians have stolen their material from someone else. Every bit of music that you've ever listened to comes out somewhere in your playing whether you admit to it or not. The combination of influences may make you sound unique somehow however. The "great ones" are the guys that brought their sound to the masses and looked/seemed cool while doing it. Your dad may have been ripped off to some extent by Page, but Page is the one people talk about. That is what makes him legendary. Page is considered sloppy by some, but he played cool riffs and he looked cool while he did it. I don't think I've ever heard of your dad. I'm sure he's a fine guitarist though.
