I am admittedly not up on the Mammoth stuff. For those that wouldn't otherwise listen, at least listen to the solo at 4:00 :yes:
 
Well, the kid can play I will give him that. His tunes are modern and catchy enough too. I hate the production on the drums though. Total ear fatigue for me listening to that clicky bass drum and that popping snare.

Great tone on the lead but I wonder, is that pushed with something? Doesn't sound like variac squish so I wonder if he got a little him on the floor for that.

Sounds great. I wouldn't say that tone is anything special besides sounding great tho...because the 'special' tone was in Ed's fingers not an amp.
 
It’s not my thing personally but…. I think he’s super talented and it’s amazing what he’s doing….also cool that he’s using his dad’s gear occasionally….the music to me is just pop rock…like the foo fuckers…I can see the appeal of it….like nickleback….but hey-who the fuck am I? 😂

I'm honestly shocked that you didn't shit all over this since you seem to be Mr. Metal Chest Beating around here along with some other folks that seem to hate anything with melody or anything outside of what they jerk off too in their car.

I caught the Mammoth show in Houston a couple of weeks ago. The entire band is solid. I don't understand banging on him for being "pop rock." Both eras of Van Halen could be considered pop rock. I for one am very glad that he's not trying to be his dad. He is doing his own ting and I think he does it extremely well. He can sing and play is ass off. I wish him a very long and successful career.

True…van halen was party music and pop rock at the time….but damn it was just so fuckin cool though….eddy changed the game. And I agree with everything you say about Wolfgang. Just not for me. I’m not a pimple on his ass as far as music goes….
