Just finished playing one thru my 4x12...I am in heaven and with a good overdrive pedal it just does it in spades! Hit it with my old Midi verb II and had some great fun!

I'd say way more than SL. When I played on it I was easily covering some Metallica territory. Despite this I've got a Fulltone Fulldrive II patiently awaiting the Rebel's arrival. I'm doing this to increase on-the-fly versatility.

Just an update for everyone. The Rebel has been tested and all Special Orders will ship in the morning. You should see them landing in Guitar Centers by the second full week of October.

All stores will get one. A few stores may have two but there aren't that many in this shipment.

Does the tube blend pot have any effect on life of the tubes? That is, by having a means to electrically combine the outputs, is there any possibility of interaction between the outputs that could adversely affect tube life?

Sort of but very minimal...when turned all the way to the left or right, the opposite side of tubes is in idle mode. They are not being driven.

I couldn't believe how bad-ass that little mutha was when I played it at NAMM this earlier this year. I have played a number of low watage amps, and i think this one is right up there with the best - just with Bruce's smokey, grindy, snarley vibe. The power amp color selector dod-hickey is further evidence of brilliant life forms at Egnater. I hope to pick one up soon and do a clip-a-thon.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say the SL2.

I have not played it or heard it in person, but Jeff told me on the phone that when you have it gained out it's like an JCM800 with a boost.

This is a very accurate description. It's got a very Marshally flavor, but that flavor can be altered to your liking with the Tube Mix. I tell you, I'm getting very antsy in my pantsy about this. I've been fortunate enough to spend a decent amount of time with this amp and I know what it's capable of, so it makes the anticipation even worse. I'm really hoping that I get it this week. I should find out tomorrow when I'll have it in-hand.
