Correct. Alnico SRO's went out of production in 1968. The 12L's and M's are newer and not necessarily what you want, however, an original, if I remember correctly, has a very high power rating (200 watts comes to mind) and it's extremely clean. Whatever your amp sounds like, this will reproduce it but you won't be getting any speaker distortion as you would with a lower powered speaker. I had a 12" and a 15" SRO (different cabinets) that I used exclusively with my Fuchs ODS-50. That was the amp they sounded best with. I'm currently using a pair of Golds with a Mod 50. I still have the 15" around somewhere but they are too hard to find to give it up even though I'm not using it.

That speaker is not one of the original SRO's. A real one has no 'L' designation and the magnet is covered by a white cover that looks like a coffee can. Some of the SRO's that you have were made for PA systems and some for guitar. They do not sound like a true SRO and are not worth nearly as much.
A true Alnico SRO looks like this:
HTH
Cool, I don't know much about it other than what it's labeled. My guess is if it's not a a "true" SRO it would be a newer model or something?
