Man…. Look at all these iconic records… it’s JUST like the 2c+ favorite tones threads, and SLO threads….. oh wait…. :D

I don’t even know where to begin.

As far as newer tones: whitechapel: Kin. One of the heaviest sounds I’ve heard in long time.

Also yea, all of the nickelback records sound incredible with a recto, you’re fucking deaf, high, or retarded if you can’t hear that.

Cannibal corpse: evisceration plague

Arch enemy: doomsday machine

Literally any messhugah record that has a recto on it.

nevermore: this godless endeavor. Obviously DHIADW is king, but the playing on this godless endeavor is on another level.

Testament: the gathering… Low As well

everything else listed is A1 incredible too. All perfect choices, for a perfect amp, that actually has clout to back it up :D

I watched the interview with Dave jergen and he says it’s a Marshall, Randall and a rock man that they blended
That’s interesting. I thought some early Rec was in the blend somewhere. I can get in the ballpark with the vintage HG mode on the tremoverb.

Oh yeah!…..These guys are a great example of Recto’s in a rock, heavy rock sound vs metal. What’s weird is they often dial in a not quite medium, not kind of full on distortion but with Duncan Invaders…lol
This below just has a wiry, chewy kind of sound that I really dig.

Whitechapel-The Valley or Kin. Absolutely perfect sounding albums. The chugs in Forgiveness is Weakness are arguably my favorite recorded guitar tones ever.

For anyone that’s curious, the main tones mark engineered were done with a rev F triple recto believe it or not, with some rev F dual thrown in there too. Cab is a 1970s Marshall straight 4x12, micing I believe a 2005 Marshall celestion vintage speaker. Mic was an Sm57, and a TUL G12…. Highly recommend that mic by the way, I’m a huge fan of it, really fantastic sounding. Mark didn’t mix this , but he engineered all the tones. I think the mix believe it or not would’ve been much, much better if mark had done it. Judging by what I heard what he was gonna to do with it, the drums especially would’ve absolutely destroyed what is actually on the record. I still absolutely love it, but it could’ve been much better, in my opinion.
