No, the new Fortin Amps are not built by me. The only stuff i'm involved in, is the Marshall mods i'm currently doing by myself.

And for the record, i have never performed a mod that involves a 'Larry' gain circuit.

Mike NEVER shared details of the NATAS or SATAN amps with me and i never asked about those designs. I wasn't ever chasing that sound personally, so it wasn't something that interested me enough to dig deeper.

I was largely involved in the Cali Mod, which was our take on a Jose style circuit. And i made it well known at the time that it was a Jose inspired design. And then after that, the Killer Kali++ Mod, which is an extension of the Cali Mod.

Please do not drag me into this and accuse me of copying you Larry. It's not true and i really don't appreciate it.

I think I may have replied to someones Fortin Grind FS ad saying I would trade a random pedal that I had to sell for cheap, plus cash for a Fortin Grind. Easier to sell a hyped product I figured and worth checking out but idk...The way they have been listed for sale left and right shows nobody wants to keep them so maybe it was better the trade didnt happen idk.

This is an entertaining thread... More of a rectifier/5150 guy myself and never really dug the hot rodded Marshall tone. I did have a Thrasher for awhile but wasnt my thing so I sold it. I had never heard of the Larry amps and also discovered that he seems like a real douche so wont be looking at those anytime soon either haha. I will say you dont see too many Fortin owners complaining about failures or how much thier new amps sucked, most seem to dig 'em. Carry on I'm enjoying this one, I really should come to Rig-Talk more often!

Up until then the only problems I had with Fortin products was in the past and not directly toward Mike, although I did question his thought process about employee choices but it definitely makes sense now. Zack is definitely the perfect employee for Fortin. Kudos to you Zack I will absolutely say whatever weird shit that you do, you do it well.

Anyway it is actually possible to hear an amp and say wow that sounds really good and at the same time disagree with business practices and morals.

...wow. You’re telling me this is the first you have heard of the Fortin and Larry drama? You claim this is “brand new”. It’s been brought up since 2009 and resurfaced during the Meshuggah amp release and then after all the other releases.

Sorry Dan, it took a while until I got the customer on the phone to confront him with this dubiety.
Finally it turned out, that after he got the amp he later still had another modder - even one from good ol Bavaria - to accomplish some more tweaks after his personal taste. About this I didn't know until just an half hour ago and he also didn't tell about it, as he's been in my house about a year ago.
Lastly after this is cleared up I now know, WHO ELSE has taken at least a deep look inside one of my DINO amps.
