Of which ones?

What amps have been out at that time in the late 80', where I could have stolen High Gain Circuits?

Could you please mention a few examples?

:D :D :D

Just for the case you don't believe that I've built my first High Gain amp at that time

Hey - I'm still waiting, that you mention a few examples.

Keep in mind, that I've started at a time, as there still wasn't internet, no emails, no PDF's and even no books, which could show you how to build guitar tube amps ;)

Or are you only a poor gasbag?

I had a Krull video game cartridge for my Atari 2600.

It sucked a big fat rod.
Hahaha... I remember the first time playing Combat on a 2600... man that was the shit   For me though, hands down the best game to come from the Atari 2600 was Pitfall!

The Activision shit was next level. I probably spent more time playing River Raid than any other game.

Diaper up bitches!
Definitely. Pitfall was so next level.
Played the shit out that game.

I stilll have my original system with about 50 games in a box stored.

...the dragster game would absolutely wear your ass out...blistered hands an'all... after a while though, the joystick would loosen up a bit and you could go through gears like butt'a
I remember when i got pitfall....stayed up all night long playing it. i'd a been like 10-11 y.o....next morning looked like a damn strung-out coke head or something.  can still hear that crazy little Indy'Jones (ish) tune when doing the rope/swamp thing... good times.

when pac-man came out...holy shit.... all the kids built a camp at my house. even got a pac-man T-shirt

I had a dedicated joystick just for Dragster. Not only was it well worn to start with, but I removed the rubber from the shaft to increase sensitivity. It was the ultimate in power shifting bliss. Hold the gas to the floor and bang thru the gears.

I still remember the night I fell asleep in my bean bag playing Pitfall. Woke up the next morning with the TV screen flashing green to yellow to red, etc. I even had a notebook where I charted out my path so I wouldn't go down the wrong hole or risk jumping a fuck ton of alligators for nothing. Never did make it to the end of that game or River Raid. The closest I ever came to beating a game was Chuck Norris Superkicks. Missed it by just a few Ninjas. I was so excited thinking that I was going to beat the game that I was sweating and shaking.

:D

oh hell yea man....the joystick~condemn was gone within hours...of course i always kept it nearby, so if mom/dad walked by i could sliiiiidddee it on real quick, as to not get my ass torn up for "breaking the damn thing on the first day!"

the gas-matted-banging-through-the-gear-box was the preferred method...definitely. i remember one weekend...Sat night...mom and dad had some friends over. i'm sure they were deep in the Budweisers when dad called out for me to bring the game to the living room were the adults were. he hooked that shit up to the BIG TV...you know the one... the floor model, where the screen was built into the wood cabinet, and speakers behind red or green plush speaker covers! M'fer had some big'ol RCA tubes in it best i remember.... anyways. Being the good ole boys they were, they could not resist Dragster. i was the 10 y.o. MAN!  just smoked their asses, over and over...let them hang with me for a bit then throw that shit down and leave'em in the dust... they got so damn tickled at each other, over blowing up the engines trying to learn the shift patterns...engine all broke and shit... damn what cool memories.

What is your clean channel based off of, is that circuit your own design as well?

No but there were certainly amps to open up and look at, no?

But as long as I'm dreaming like a schoolgirl,I might as well wish for a pony. Mailman and I have an idea for a reality show that involves farm animals. We are in pre-production now...

Well I’m still looking for the zebra.
Oragnatan check
Baby monkey - check
Alligator - check
Leopard - check

Stay tuned.
You can paint stripes on me, but I do have to warn about the hail damage on by butt

Mesa Boogie, Soldano, Bogner, modded Marshall in general. But many preamps already were hi-gain in late '80.

After reading this thread and carefully reviewing all the information I strongly recommend that Larry does the following:

Mod a Marshall amp for me with a delivery date of 4-6 weeks...

Sorry not sorry... I'm apparently very self centered and can't get that awesome tone coming from the modded red Marshall out of my head!

The clean channel named California is, like it's name implied based on a well known amp who's been built in mid 60' in Fullerton/CA

But also here I've remarkable refined the antetype circuit, to make it sound Fender-ish with EL34 output tubes and to eliminate the boomyness in the lows by keeping the warmth in the tone.

Also keep in mind, that nobody would buy a 6k to 8k amp only due to its great clean channel. There must be a bit more than just this. Right?

Have you compared a DINO to the mentioned amps ever?

If you'd have done it, you wouldn't have mentioned this.

As for the preamps - I've been working for Kitty Hawk as a designer from 1989 until 1991

Maybe you can remember some preamps from that time? The Quattro, the Testarossa?

And as I've already had left the company a bit later even a DINO preamp was coming out ;)

Also from my side after my time at Kitty Hawk some different preamps came out.

Among others this one:

Ok - once again my question: Where could I have stolen my High Gain circuits?

Check it out. I built my first web cam in the 1800s:

How much for and how do I get one of those Larry preamps though?

It's not been a modded Marshall, but a completely rebuild DINO based 3 channels Clean-Crunch-Lead with commom tone control and tube based FX loop

I've rebuilt this amp already back in 1993 or 1994 and the amp never got a circuit update, just has been retubed once.

Martin (the guitar player & designer of the NOwaxx pickups) btw is a good friend of me.

But I'd never rebuild a Marshall amp anymore, since I've sworn an oath to the Vintage Amp God, that I'd never again would drill any hole into a good ol' Marshall amp ;)

I really have to say that I am over this. Lol.

Good luck Larry, I think you got ripped off. But I don't think you and Fortin are in competition. Getting ripped off fucking blows. I believe that you have a great circuit. If you lawyer up, I have no idea what will happen. I hope it lands favorably for you. But I don't know if it is worth the time and frustration. I have respect for you as a craftsman and amp designer, and also understand that you are content financially where you are at. You have a good thing going with your business. I wish you well.

Cats, tits, or close. Preferably close after the tits and skip the cats.

Damn, this dies at page 10?

Well it was a good run guys, thanks to everyone for participating. I would love to see the outcome of any legal action.
