Freedom of Speech

Well, if the facelift raises the eyebrows it makes the forehead look smaller, which can in turn make the face look wider / less-long.

Just something I've noticed here and there.

Wow that was literally a draft that I didn't mean to post and deleted in like 4 seconds. You that eager for people to write to you?

1. Education. The first amendment is about the government. Fox is a private company being sued by another company. First amendment means nothing here at all.
2. I'd be curious to read legitimate case summaries here.
3. The case wasn't thrown out, so it already shows merit according to a judge.
4. Again, freedom of speech let's you voice grievances to the USA government. Private citizens do not need to uphold anything related to the first amendment. The first amendment also doesn't apply to people not located in the USA (such as this website owners AFIAK). Educate yourself and drop the first amendment ideological bs?
5. No. I think people can have opinions. But if they build a cult following on lies and hypocrisy that are a detriment to society, I don't think that is good. Nazi Germany is a pretty acceptable "expressing" going a bit far as an example. I'm not saying you are a Nazi. And I think you already believe democrats are over expressing, so not sure you agree with yourself. Should the government stop it? No. Are private citizens responsible? Absolutely. So cheers to mods for taking action and putting up with us.
I responded to a few things, but as to the first point, consider Lenny Bruce and Larry Flint... cases on freedom of speech that has nothing to do with speaking out against the gov't, but simply having the freedom to express one's self without being arrested and shunned. Another example is Tipper Gore, et. al., who wanted to silence the Metal music industry in the 1980s, due to lyrics. Thankfully that failed, but it also resulted in greater sales (everyone wanted the record with the warning sticker on it). And, as stated, Fox has the right to say what it wants, and others have the right to sue Fox if they have a platform to do so as well... THE FREEDOM to sue and express a different opinion. I think you need to educate yourself.

Larry Flint was protected specifically by the supreme court citing that **satire** involving a **public figure** (the reverend) is protected against libel.

The posthumous Supreme Court decision on Lenny Bruce also specifically cited **satire** (which can be assumed in a comedic performance) as protected.

Tipper Gore never went to court. She also did not want to prevent artists from presenting their lyrics. Record labels put warning labels like she asked. Not sure how this is related.

Most of the crap you post that people object to are not targeted at specific public figures. And if this is satire, you really need to add a label.

Aside from that, I don't think any of these situations is relevant to the false propaganda you are pushing.

I never said Tipper Gore went to court (it was in front of the Senate)... please quote where I stated anything about that event happening in court. If you can't state simple facts of what I stated, how do you expect to debate on the simple facts? I merely gave another example of how a group wanted to silence another group. And it is IRRELEVANT if the courts deemed it 'satire.' The clear point is that certain groups wanted to SILENCE others and to take away that freedom of speech. And you don't know how it's related? It's called CENSORSHIP... to remove a group's freedom of speech. Both groups came to a compromise with the labels, which still was a form of censorship, but which helped the Metal industry. Me pushing for freedom of speech on a forum that WELCOMES DISCUSSION is beyond your understanding? And that you don't get how the other situations apply? Fuck me, lol.

The details of why a court sided with Flynt or Bruce regarding libel/defamation vs. protected speech are 100% relevant when you are citing them as examples about unrelated bullshit to blanket believe anything you do is protected by the same means.

I never said you said Gore went to court. I said the court never ruled on it. It is relevant because the Court decides whether or not a case violates deflation law or the 1st amendment, not the Senate. The fact it never went to court means neither of us can draw any conclusions about whether or not it is constitutional. The reason is was a Senate hearing was to determine if law should be written about it, which would have then been challenged in the court by artists/labels.

Your beliefs that you can say whatever you want is protected speech is completely that, a belief. People are repeatedly telling you why it isn't protected. You have your head so far up your ass you can't hear it (see, that was satire, get it yet?)

Ironic that someone complaining that people won't listen is replying by not listening.

But I'm not censuring you or preventing you from talking, am I? Duh! I can choose not to listen or ignore, just like anyone on this forum can choose to ignore posts by others (thereby, not requiring censorship). That is the beauty of freedom of speech... no one is silencing you, but no one is compelled to listen. That's why citizens can complain and the gov't doesn't do anything about it.

Censoring others online in general is a tactic used by the weak.

If I owe someone $100, it’s my problem. If I owe someone $1000, it’s their problem.

I posted this story before... how the Canadian gov't is trying to regulate all Internet content... and if you disagree, you're an 'extremist' (typical libtard tactic... call the other side a nazi, extremist or whatever):

Life must suck seeing evil and enemies around every corner. You must be a fucking blast at parties.
