Here's Dave's latest creation he did for me. It's Metroamp 12 Series with BE, SAT, C45, Simple Clean with 4-Way Bright Switch, Loop, and Solo Boost with seperate gain and volume. This thing fucking kills. The tone in just incredible. And it's got quite a bit more gain than my other Metro head with a similar mod. Hat's off to Dave, you did it again.

that's cool (above)...what accounts for the difference in gain? was it intentional because you requested it or just turned out that way?

I did request more gain. The gain I get out of my other head dimed (which is a good level) is at about 2 o'clock on the new mod which is great cause I can set up the solo channel with more gain and volume.

Lp Freak- Thats modded my Splawn. KT88s, OD1&2, MMT, clean channel, solo boost, & FX Loop.. Same specs as the very first Pro Mods.
I think that that splawn might be my old one, did u get it used? Mine was originally a 1997 white marshall limited edition plexi ri that had all of splawns top mods at that time, I sold it on ebay a few years back. Just curious is all :)

just got it back a few hours ago

'75 JMP 50 with KS, SAT, FAT, and six way high end cut

Definitely sounds a bit different from the other one, but not in a bad way - a bit more low end and gain on this one I think.

Yeah! Looks nice and mean looking, but what's with the two holes? Was there no way to cap them, or are those black plugs? I can't tell from the pic. How do you like that Hi Cut control?? Hmmmmm....

I'd love to have Dave mod a 50 watter for me, but since my 100 watter has a 60/100 switch, I really don't NEED it!

Yeah, both of those are black plugs. The amp definitely isn't pretty, but it sounds amazing. I find that the other one (which just has BE and SAT) sounds a bit more balanced and lower gain...not sure if they usually vary like that though. Maybe it's even the tubes.

the hi cut control is pretty cool - seems to be more effective on some settings than others, but definitely useful.

BE + C45 is just unbelievable

It may not be "pretty", but I think it looks mean! Every time I play my KS JMP, it sounds better and better. The SAT mod clinched it; just roll the gain back a little... Nice! Before I had the SAT added, I never used the HBE channel..... Mwa ha ha ha ha!

Just checking. :D

Glad you like it. Yeah they all come out a bit different. Some are better then others or just different. Custom Brown eye amps are more consistent in the tone because of all identical parts. Its kind of fun with mods though because they all are a bit different and you need to tweak the mod for the amp. Have fun

Bump for some new pictures...

Bought this one off AndyK recently (thanks again  )

Need to get a picture of the back, but it's a 1989 JCM 800 1987/50 watt with BE and a two way SAT switch. (on/off/on). I think one is voiced brighter, and one slightly darker and more compressed with even more gain...?

I've still got my '75 50 watt in for some mods...kitchen sink, SAT, FAT, and 6 way high end cut switch. Hopefully that will be done sometime soon, but I think this will keep me busy

I have the same amp with the KS (BE/C45/HBE) SAT,FAT,EFX loop, best Marshall 50wt on the planet!

Thanks Dave,

I've had a fair amount of time to play this amp now and it's become one of my favorites. Getting lots of great tones out of it.

I see what you mean about it being thick sounding. Seems a lot punchier than the other one, so I have the bass control set a little lower.

The JCM 800 1987 you mean? I'm not familiar with the stock ones, but the two modded ones I've got (one pictured above) are amazing sounding amps.

I thought I'd end up selling that one, but it seems to sound a bit different than the one I just got back. Not sure how to describe the difference...the core tone is the same though
