Was that the one I sent you? Man that amp was spotless. Those mods are killer. Glad you still have it if it's the same one.

NICE!! A "sleeper" amp with no obvious mods on the front panel! I don't have the FAT mod, is it worth having installed??

What's up with the post-it? Does it get that hot?
Good point... My 50 watt Jose-modded '69 small-box head gets hotter than my Friedman-modded '77 JMP... I wonder what's up with that sticky-post it? Maybe instead of a fan, Dave installed a heater to get the tubes to melt down for better gain and overdrive??

It adds the Whoompf when needed! lol, for sure it gives an added Fattness to single coils, All the bells and whistles in there, I like the BE mode with SAT the best!

Ha, no not at all, Dave packaged the Tubes in Bubble wrap in back when he shipped it to me, I just thought it was a cool sticker from the big man so I left it on there. :D

Just curious as there a lot of KS mods in here. How do you all have your EQ set?

I generally have presence, mids, and treble set around 12 o clock (maybe a little higher) but the bass control set around 9 o clock (right where it starts to have an effect).

That's just with the BE alone. I usually tweak the EQ slightly when using any of the additional functions on the back (SAT, FAT, C45) or the HBE input.

it might sound a bit odd that the bass is set that low, but with my other amp (BE and SAT) I generally have the bass set around 11 o clock.

My KS (Marshall JCM800 model 1987 50 watt) has loads of low end if needed, I keep my Bass around the 9 o'clock and adjust to taste based on the cabinet Im running thru. I have a scumback loaded Marshall slant with M75/J75 mix (awesome speakers IMO) that can handle more bass that my Vin 30 cabinets, . I also have the FAT switch which changes the dynamic a little, I like running the FAT switch on and adjust the Bass control, Presence really kicks in around 3 o'clock, same with treble. having the KS mod with FAT,SAT,C45 and EFX loop gives me all the gain and tone options I can squeeze out of a 50 watt Marshall.

Hey Dale, did you ask Dave to pull your tubes when shipping or does he do that to all amps?
I hope when he sends me my KS JMP he leaves the tubes in place as i have a roadcase for the amp.

Dave packaged my tubes very well in Bubble Wrap and stuffed them into the back of the amp. Im sure he will do what you would like but may recommend that you package them? I may be wrong but I was very happy with his service, and kept the sticky note on my amp! It's a hand written message from the man himself! Just take a look at the amps he works on! damn impressive list of clients!
