The official release date is today! Looks like they'll be releasing Standard Axcess first. There's no info on the Custom one at Gibson Custom site. They changed the neckjoint carving for these production models compared to the prototypes, if I'm correct.

Here are some pics of them in both colors available atm (gun metal gray & iced tea):

The black one looks a lot like Kage's FP except for the ebony fretboard and a few plastic parts.

Hey Gibson, floyd roses and better upper fret access by shaping the neck joint? Welcome to the 80s! :)

I guess better late than never. I'm sure the purusts are gonna be raising hell over this one. lol!

That burst looks nice, it'll probably cost way too much for me though

Somebody call Neal Schon from Journey, he was playing this guitar in the 80's.

Brad Gillis was playing his before that... his LP had floyd rose #3, back when Floyd was making them in his garage. :)

I saw one of those in a local Guitar Center on Saturday! It shocked me. I saw it hanging there and asked the dude what the deal was with that LP with a Floyd. He handed it to me and said they just got it. Kinda cool. It was really light and seemed kinda neat. It's a Custom Shop model and it was like $3,999 or something crazy like that! Ridiculous price tag.

Sorry, but custom shop or not, they still aren't worth half that price.

Pretty cool. Would make a nice 2nd Les Paul. Too bad its priced that high, custom shop or not that's too rich for my blood.

I wonder why exactly they start with these at this point in time. Are Gibson's other brands (some of which super-strat style guitars) not selling, and they decided that they'd want a piece of that market too?

What a joke. Why spend the coin on a LP when you can get a Charvel, Ibanez, or a Jackson. This thing is a throwback from the 80's. Well be seeing a hot pink color scheme next. What a shame.

I was drooling all over the iced tea until I saw the 3500.00 price tag!!!

AS some of you may know this is going to hurt deeply inside................I like the direction Gibson is taking with these new models lately properly doing fret jobs, plek, better more modern playing guitar.

AS Pete said welcome Gibson to 1980.

Not for Gibson is this a throw back, hell they had to outsourse shredder guitars. This is new territory for them, a modern guitar made for the player and that neck heal should have been standard for years.

I'm most excited about the back routing and neck joint. I'll have to check it out

It's so weird seeing a cavity on the back of a LP with the springs

Gibson made some guitars with Kahler's on them in the '80s.

Iv seen a few Kahler loaded Gibbys but i dont really find Kahler's all that great.. Never liked the design much!
