Well Mars was a HUGE Kramer player and Vivian had perhaps the most sought after Kramer sig model, the Nightswan so you can delete those two guys

Mars had that Kramer Tele that everyone wanted as well, the Girls, Girls, Girls guitar.

Mars stopped playing his LP Custom right about the time Motley Crue started sucking. :)

Chris

If Mars stopped playing his LP when MC started sucking, that would mean he never used LPs during his MC days. :D

+1

Didn't Mick Mars abuse his whammy bar on a regular basis? I can dig Motley Crue because it's straight up rock but i didn't like it when they went with ballads.

Hey funny thing is, Gibson releases a FLoyd Paul and it's got us all talking. I'm still in love with the new Les Paul traditional.

not sure about Slayer, they were never on my radar. I'd rather listen to cats fuck on a trash can lid than hear Kerry King play a 'solo'

Pete

I love Slayer but.. :hys:

As far as I know, Mick Mars played his black LP Custom constantly during the first several years (Too Fast For Love, Shout at the Devil.)

But I guess everyone already knows that.

oh..okay.

They created a buzz - that's for sure!

I havent even seen what the guys on the LP forum have said about the Access model but I dont need to have a damn good idea that they dont approve...

I was surprised at the positive interest there is on that Forum for this model. I also posted my Floyded Paul there and was expecting to get crucified but I did not get one negative comment. I guess those guys have lightened up or the else the hard-asses have learned to keep there opinions to themselves.

Even though I'm happy as to how my Floyd Paul came out, I would seriously consider the Gibson Axcess if it were under $2500.

This is a Custom Shop as well. 82-85?? XPL.

Cool guitar but that would be more of a copy of a studio with a floyd wouldnt it? does that volume knob get in your way sometimes?

No It came from Gibson with a Kahler and an Explorer neck. Pretty rare. I actually like the volume knob really close like that for some reason.

I dont know why I said copy, meant to say a studio with a whammy bar, but it's even a little different then a studio, but I did not mean to say copy. It was 6 am here when I posted that, still drinking my coffee at the time.

It's all good!

They'll never admit to copying PRS but it's funny to see them come up with the new neck heal and a trem LP when PRS has had their model out for a few years. But i really haven't liked any of the PRS SC Trems i have played. They may as well use a FLoyd instead of a vintage trem and those models have a thinner body which doesn't make sense to me.
The Tremonit SC's have the thicker body like the regular SC's. Amazing guitars. Great feeling, nice weight...set up right they stay in tune well. Certainly worth it to be able to change a string in a matter of minute or more as opposed to a Floyd.

I like the new LP but dissappointed in the price tag, it's thickness and it's weight relieved...don't like the weight relieved LPs. I've got 2 Tremonti's and am looking at getting a 3rd. Probably getting rid of some of my LP's.

I did stand out a bit with all of my playing friends. One guy had a Telecaster, but the rest of them had Jacksons, Ibanez, Kramer, etc... I always sounded better than them, though.

Chris
To your point.....I was in a gigging band in '83, when my only guitar was a Memphis LP copy (hey, I was 17!).....and the other guitarist had a sweet looking, brand new all-black Kramer Pacer. My LP copy absolutely KILLED this other guy's hip new guitar every damn time we played!

Why do I want one of these SO BAD!!!!It's starting to interupt my sleeping habits

I played one at the Guitar Center right near my school and I liked it. I wasn't blown away, but it was cool.

But $3500 of cool, no.

It not like they are getting rid of the VOS Les Pauls, so maybe they just see it as a new overprice model. This les paul does not really violate anything of what makes the guitar a 'les Paul'.

I think though alot of people are just staying quiet over this model. You will always have the traditionalist that think a strat and a tele should not have a humbucker and that a floyd shouldn't be on a les paul.

If this guitar was price lower and closer to a LP standard or LP studio, I would be real interested....

Seriously, I admit I don't have a clue about marketing or guitar sales, but this really does seem like an item that would have found its way into MANY more people's hands if they could have found a way to keep it under 3K.
