It was -15 degrees here this morning and I'm sure the wind-chill was another 10 degrees colder than that....

Looking forward to Spring!

Funny thing about those old prototypes, they are now being exchanged for free(minus shipping and handling, some preconditions may apply) for one of these:

We all started somewhere, too bad you never got off the ground ;)

Exchanging one bomb for another, now that's customer service!

OMG, that's almost funny ;) Too bad ya can't keep the poo in OT, but hey, it's only R&R.

What is funny thou, is how you and others still talk about stuff I did from almost 10 years ago. I hope you have that pleasure someday, but then, not everyone has the prowess.

Here brainchild, this is a clip of my very first amp(CM60):

Recorded live @ the Rockcreek Blues Fest, summer 2000. Band; Top Hat Trio, out of Seattle.
And a pic:
Ampfront1.jpg

My own design power supply and output stage, Marshall 1959 preamp stage.
This was the first guitar amp ever to have a active high voltage regulator stock. Many said it wasn't needed. Yet Traynor, ENGL and others use them, I was just the first!

Not bad for my first attempt, if I do say so myself, LOL.

Good luck with your life Mikey, hope ya get outta your Mom's basement someday

Is that American enough for ya?

Haha, same amp(CM60) & year(2000). Different player and style.
Another live recording, this time @ Fort Mac Alta. Band: Flashback.

Both incidentally were paid gigs for me Mikey.., ya, I do sound too. That amp got dragged all over and every player that tried it, loved it. One reason why I went on to make more.

I'm searching for a clip from the exact amp you posted. Hope I saved a copy of Pete's(statotone) clip... just so you can post it along with that pic next time.

FWIW, all my early amps came with GEC(sometimes a Mullard in V1) NOS preamp tubes. So if they did not like the amp and had any brains they could sell the tubes for more than the 130USD they paid for the amp. No wonder that no-one who bought one is complaining. But I do love comments from someone like you that never even touched one. Kinda reminds me of those virgins that brag about how many girls they've had, LOL.

I know one thing, no-one that resold one of those early prototypes(some of which were assembled by my children) gave out the NOS tubes that came with it...wonder why

nice open and articulate sound, harmonics were not overdone. strat with singles?

Hey , thanks for listening man!
The first clip was a Strat with singles, the second one posted was a LPC with DCs.
And, back to the thread topic...

Still too cold here for boating, bikes and stuff. One things OK, frozen dog poo is easier to PU, LOL.

Great tone on that clip. what was the signal chain on that. speakers, whatnot?
come on man, inquiring minds wanna know! ;)

hahaha You all think just cause it cold in your neck of the woods means there is no global warming??? Too funny!!!! Whats the first word in Global warming??? Were are talking about the whole earth... Do some research on the average temp of the globe now compared to the past...

Oh and by the way its just shy of 70 here in NE Arkansas today and its dead middle of the winter... Weather is going to get more and more extreme as time goes on... From extreme colds sweeping in to extreme hot... Climate is changing and it will change the way we live.

Open your eyes!!!

Ageed, yet right about now is when we usually see the tulips starting to come up and cherry trees beginning to bloom. But now instead, we have to buy snow tires, boots & shovels...

Open your eyes!!!

did you watch the show Crude on the History channel the other night? lots of interesting info...basically the theory is that the earth cooled down because all the CO2 got trapped at the bottom of the stagnant oceans (no temp differences, no currents to move and oxygenate the water = very little sea life). this turned from organic matter (dead animals, plankton, etc) into oil. now were burning that and putting it back into the atmosphere, and it may be too late already, what with feedback systems (ice melting, making the oceans less salty, equalizing temps and possibly making the waters stagnant again, etc etc) that we might not know of working towards another age of high temps.

so, we may be able to stop it, but it may be too late already...we dont know because weve never gone through this before. it may just be a phase and it may pass in a decade...like how the Ozone layer cleared up, or countless other things that we may have been wrong about. theres just not enough data to know for sure. however, glaciers ARE melting, the gulf stream even stopped for 10 days not too long ago (which is REALLY bad!)

i love oil...im not gonna deny it. i love driving, i love cars. but something needs to be done. we need alternatives, and we need to try and fix stuff while we can. i want to run my cars on alcohol personally...which is what they were originally designed to run on (however gas was cheaper and easier to produce at the time!) but well need other things like electric cars (at least hybrids), hydrogen powereed cars, and other things as well. im looking forward to alcohol though...theyre working on turning switchgrass into ethanol, and it yields twice as much ethanol compared to sugar cane (which is what Brazil uses). about 1,000 gallons an acre, compared to about 500 for sugar cane, and less than that for corn.

the future is exciting...i just hope itll be nice 10 years from now, and not like the days of the dinosaurs.

Got up to almost 70 today and dropping down to 19 tonight... CRAZY!!!

it was in the 30's yesterday here...now its up in the 60's. been doing that for the last couple weeks. i remember just 10 years ago we had an ice storm here...and every winter up until a couple years ago was always pretty cold. now its going towards being too warm during the winter.

and i hate the summers...the heat isnt bad, i dealt with the heat in California. the humidity is what kills me
