Ya, in this order. That's my guess too
I really expected the 2C++ to annihilate the JMP but the raw insane gain wasn’t there. Your 2C sounded more like a Marshall with how it’s dialed in and even a bit darker? Where’s the assloads of gain? 😂

Thanks for the comparison and as others have said in this comparison the JMP wins. Great top end and overall attitude would sit great in a mix!

I didn’t like the 60W but that’s on me - I’m not a Mesa guy at heart but love when they’re dialed in to bring heat.
Ya, that was like the worst IIC++ clip i've heard the guy do so far, and what's with the lack of gain on the IIC+??. He must be trying to sway the vote into the JMP's favor. :) It's his new amp, it's gotta be the best, haha. Just kidding, ultimateguitartones...sorta :)

Great tones and playing as always dude. They did sound pretty close to each other - which I was not expecting. I also agree with most that the JMP sounded best.

Great stuff

They actually sound pretty close but it sounds like the JMP has more gain dialed in, and your IIc++ needs to be tightened up a bit. I like the 60 watt IIC+ the best, but it needs a bit more gain I think and it would be perfect. If you dialed in the boogies a little brighter and maybe threw a boost in front I'm sure they would sound even more alike. Cool clips.

This was almost my thoughts exactly as I listened and didn't read ahead.

Edit: anomaly - I was actually thinking when I saw the thread title earlier that he was going to purposely make the Mesa's sound better because that is HIS tone you know? But it is hard to deny how good that JMP sounds.

Well let's not forget that the marshall here is boosted with not just one but two pedals. Still the 2C+ is my all time favorite amp. No pedals no nothing - pure raw gain. I'll throw some more tests that might compliment the marks more. Also just for fun I'll use the TC electronics booster as a clean boost in front of them.

I like the JMP best, that's not really a surprise though, I gravitate towards marshall style tones

Mark IIC+ srgx
++
Jmp boosted
So yeah I like all tracks for different reasons again. The jmp sounds more open and airy maybe. The two boosts definitely help. Today I'll probably have the chance to play it loud through 2 different cabs at the studio!

JMP all of the way. No contest.

I find a 2C+ needs a boost to tighten it up. But that can be a killer sound as well. I actually like the Mark IV more than a 2C+ or ++.
For some reasons I like the Mark IV better than the IIC+ as well. That clip that he posted a while back proved to me that the IV can cop a IIC+ tone as well, at least recorded, but it's capable of much more than that. I still want a IIC+ though cause I've wanted one forever now.

The mark iv is far more versatile than the 2C+ . The 1st version is more raw and in your face than the 2nd one which is more modern / compressed and has more gain. Personally, as much as I enjoyed all the 5 mark iv amps that I had in the past, I still prefer my mark 2C+ amps. There is indeed sth amazing going on with the complex harmonics thing that cannot be described. Only if you A B them closely will you be able to understand and hear the nuances. But it goes without saying the mark IV is one of the best amps money can buy (at least when the price is fair lol)

I agree, they say the devil is in the details, but to me the differences in clarity, detail around the notes & responsiveness/feel AB’ed with a Mark IV was pretty substantial. The Mark IV’s IME are more homogenous sounding and the notes don’t connect on leads in as organic/vocal of a way or have as much weight/substance to the individual notes on faster note passages on leads, but I guess one would probably need a pretty hi-fi recording to be able to show those differences outside of in-person. Seems that recordings show more the overall flavor and the 2 amps are more similar there than different there (clementines vs tangerines maybe lol). Also, I’m fwiw referring more to the HRG version I’ve got (still gotta try a SRG/SG). The simul ones I didn’t like as much. Too smooth, compressed, less raw or detailed. I don’t care that Metallica used them
