this is awesome man.... I think I might trade my VH4 for a Hagen in the future :)

Sounds like another great amplifier! I'm gonna hold out for the preamp though ;), as it fits my current needs a little better. Can't wait to hear some new clips of Hagen, and eventually das preamp :D

I'm growing a rubbery one... Seriously, if thing is what I think it is, it's gonna be mega raunch and loose with that signature Diezel tone and stomp. It'll be juicy, rich, burbling, and tasty.

I love it!!

Damn, the board peanut gallery never ceases to amaze me.

I’ve seen more extraneous clap-trap on these boards then I even care to evaluate. I’ve witnessed more folks here go through good amps like cheap street walkers. Folks constantly acquiring very good amps, fiddle with it for a few weeks and send it to the chopping block.

Folks don’t realize the obvious; great tone is 80% fingers and guitar, 20% amp. As in the economy, it’s the talent stooped!

Through all the usual local "rigamarore," I haven’t looked back for over 5 years once I was introduced to the King of all, Herbert.

I think most people that flip gear just buy stuff to check it out. If they don't dig it, they flip it. It's not like these amps don't sound good or people can't get good sounds out of them but the only way to play most of these amps is to buy it. If you have the cash, who gives a shit? It's better than throwing your money away at a casino or a bar. ;)

If I lived in So Cal I certainly wouldn't have to flip gear, I'd just go check it out at a store.

Just remember KC, preference is personal... It's ALL subjective. If someone opens up asking for people's personal thoughts on a matter, it's open season. This thread started with the OP giving us deets on a brand new amp!! We're obviously - ALL EARS!!!

I've had a VH4(S) in my life for over 6 years. Of all the amps, it's been my staple. For reasons yet to be revealed, I jumped on the Hagen bandwagon and it's because I like (as time has seemingly taught me, or I've shifted in my styles) looser amps - people's preferences change.

Peace,
V.

From now on the Hagen, Herbert mk.II and the Schmidt can have a little more "top-end-overtones-ringing-bells-like-fender-blackface-amps" in their first channels. :D

so does that mean the mod is not suitable for the VH4?

I didn´t make anything on the production amps now.
The difference will come from the power tubes and
we are just checking out the EL34BG. No decision
now. The VH4 needs no mod on the clean channel.

The VH4 needs no mod on the clean channel...so true Peter!!!! thanks!

...it is all in the red words... ;-)

Cheers, Dom

...die Presence brauche ich leider - aber die Recordings auf der myspace Seite sind alle Homerecording-Sessions mit einfachen Gitarrenaufnahmen aus'm Proberaum... :D

"The Voiceless" und "Indecisive Demon" are recorded with an Einstein (quad tracked rhythms, double tracked solo) - Orange 2x12PC w/ Celestion Vintage 30 speakers - SM57 - into an Appogee Duett. ...in a rehearsal room. So no studio quality - those songs are just a demo...

All songs were "somewhat produced" by Daniel Bernath - a good friend and great creative mind!

I think it's necessary to have more soundclips and videos of Hagen right now

Joey, let me help you out. The amp for you is the Kingsley Tonebaron, quit torturing yourself and Peter. Thank me later, and if you not into it after getting it, let me know and I'll buy it from you.
