Heaven and Hell & Mob Rules

I don't know what the heck he used in 2009, all I know is that when he palm muted ( "I" for instance), I though the roof was going to collapse. It was AWESOME!

Regarding two different bands, Ozzy vs. Dio, I saw both the original Sabbath lineup and Dio Sabbath and I agree with that. Totally different vibe. Lol one of my buddies said that Dio Sabbath felt like a real band.... I don't know, I love both lineups.

Ah man ...i can't pick between ozzy and dio sabbath. Too difficult. Dio was definitely a better singer but ozzy was very unique and the original. Ronny had insane pipes.
If you reversed their time in sabbath i think i would have a very different opinion. Imagine Dio on the first 4 albums!?

I can't pick a favorite. It's too hard! It's like picking favorite Van Halen for me. They are all legendary in their own way.
Funny, I can't say I listen to MOR more than vol 4 or Paraonoid necessarily. It's just there are several songs on MOR that epitomize Sabbath to me. I got into Sabbath at a very young age. By the time I was 13 I was in basically a Sabbath/Kiss cover band. So it may be sentimental somewhat for me. Definitely I am in the Ozzy Sabbath over Ronnie Sabbath camp.

Van Halen's first album is probably my favorite. Diver Down is a close second. You're right though, they're all great. At least up to the Van Hagar period. Even then they had their moments. Eddie was amazing.

Man I popped in 0U812 in my car for the first time today in a long time and man ......it is a fuckin awesome album. Go put on the tune Mine All Mine now if you can please. Listen to Ed's Rythm playing! Man he was at his prime! Just fuckin rippin! His Rythm is so god damn underrated!!!

Two of my favorite albums, but those drums sound terrible. Never got to see them, but did see Heaven and Hell, very good.

Eddie was a bad ass no doubt. I don't care for the song, but like most Van Hagar it's worth the listen for Eddie's guitar playing.

I posted this not too long ago but seems appropriate to post it again. Remains one of my favorite shows over the last 45 yrs. I knew they’d be good I just didn’t expect them to be that good. Geezers NIB intro remains the most crushing bass tone I’ve ever heard , I thought the walls were gonna come down

Agreed. Early Sabbath is certainly influential, and all that

But dio-era Sabbath is like an entirely new (and superior) band, and made superior music, with the majority of the psychedelia and hippy affectations removed in exchange for stark, baroque imagery
Man the original 6 albums are all better than any Dio albums . First 6 albums are perfect . And I’m a more death threats 8 string guy
