In process of a Hermansson 5 GS build.

Donor amp is a 1982 “Marsnall” JMP.

Marshall + Arsenal = “Marsnall”?

1. Donor Amp and the Svetlana Winged C’s it’s already got

Amp went on the bench this past Monday, and should be done in a month. I was offered the slot the week prior to amp going on the bench fwiw.

Happy days :)

Just for info, if you didnt know. youve got an scandinavian version without 16 ohm out

The scandinavian part makes sense cause he already had it in his shop (i figured it would be easier than shipping one to him from here).

The lack of 16 ohm out, is that a european thing? i assumed all marshalls came stock with that option?

In start 80's marshall did a scandivian version with the extra fuses and lack of 16 ohm. Both versions are in denmark/sweden

If you go 8 > 8 or 4 > 4 Ohms, you'll have a bit more volume and punch. If you plug the 8 Ohms into a 16 Ohms cab, you'll have a hair less volume and punch. My 5GS is a Scandinavian version, and even when plugged into a 16 Ohms cab, it's still punchier than most other amps I've heard.
Remember the early Rectifiers that had two "8-16" and two "4" Ohms outputs? This "8-16" are 8 Ohms output, but it's fine to plug into a 16 Ohms cab. And plenty of people have done that for years, including myself, without any complaints.
So, try it and figure out which one you like best, 8 or 16 Ohms cab with the amp. It won't hurt the amp.

Perfect, thanks a ton dude!!!

I have a question, because I do not know. When you have an amp modded such as this, is there the option of having your swapped parts sent back to you?

I’ve never had it offered (though Mesa always sent me back anything they changed). I’m sure they would send you back anything salvageable. Henric is pretty dang responsive when working on the mod

In this situation the amp was his already and I have no use for the parts.

In the past the only mods I’ve had done are by Dave Friedman and he always sends any and all parts that come out back inside the shipping box.
