How can anyone seriously defend Cameron at this point?

when i first spoke with scott about 2 years ago it was him and 2 guys building the amps, so thats 3 guys total, i forgot how many amps he was building a week but even if he was doing everything by himself he would still be alot quicker than cameron. like his amps or not scott is very reliable and appreciates his customers. people can get pissed all they want and hate splawn amps but scott is known for delivering the goods while some guys are known for great amp mods that might take 2 years to get back if you ever get your amp back.

He started his business longer than two years ago. Back in '02 or so, he was still just doing mods, and occasionally buying a used Plexi RI and modding them, and he wasn't quite as proficient as he is now. At the time, I had a Plexi RI in the classifieds and he had emailed me about it and told me he'd take it. Said he was going to send a Money order, a week later he said he was going to send me a money order, then finally told me he couldn't afford it and backed out. Around that time, people were complaining a little bout the slow mod times too. That didn't make him a bad business man, or shady, it just meant he was struggling with the new aspect of business, and he had to pull through it. It happens.

I think MC needs to have some better communication etc, but this entire thread is nothing more than beating a dead horse, complaining and bitching by people that have no stake in the matter just for the hell of it, and it's ridiculous.

I didn't say you said he started it two years ago, I'm saying that two years ago, he'd had quite a few years of business behind him. When he first started, he wasn't doing it as well as he is now. Several years ago, he was having a few difficulties as well.

The only differences between this and the Sig-X are that VHT hasn't taken money for them yet (That I know of) and VHT has a Lot more resources to get the amp made, and still haven't done it. Eventually the Sig-X and the CCV/CCM will be on the market.

Well there are many variables to this. What tubes is he using in his amp, what cab is he using, what guitar? I do know that he might be in Iraq now, so maybe he can chime in more when he gets back?

Oh I agree that tastes, tubes, speakers, etc. can play a big big part but I was just making the point that the person who claimed "once people start getting thier amps will love them" isnt always the case. Also I think Dale has had plenty of high end amps to know the variables that are in play. I just think its sad and just plain unprofessional to put a hodge podge set of tubes in there, send no cable, no warranty card, and then sell an amp at full price that was a demo and had been drug around to shows. Id also bet those factors are a part of the reason Dale has sour taste in his mouth about the amp. Sorry thats just my humble .02 and I would have been pissed if that had happened to me. I also understand growing pains and trials of starting a business. My father grew a million dollar business from scratch and Ive worked for several small companies that had a slow start but there is such a thing as doing things in an way that honors your customer's feelings an concerns especially when they have prepaid most of the money. I think it of utmost importance to treat people in ways that dont make them question the ethics of your company and Cameron has IMHO missed the mark big time in those areas and he has to deal with the consequences. Also I think there is no way people can justify at all, the lies that have been told to customers, no matter how cool, funny, talented or a great guy he is to hang with and a drink some brews. I have a good friend I love to death and I have told him in the past when he has acted like an ass and he in return to me. I appreciate that. I dont want friends who dont call me on stuff like that. Someone who wont is not a friend IMHO. Just to be clear Im not saying you are are one of those people.

Ive gone on record many times saying that I don't agree with a lot of the stuff that's been going on but Im really starting to believe that a lot of guys aren't reading what is being said. There is no denying that a lot of issues need to be fixed and I Marks friends totally acknowledge that ,but on the other hand.,,,,, along with the warranted issues that are being discussed Im also seeing a lot of unwaranted bashing that is just a bunch of lies and that's usually the issues that I talk about when I see them.
