It was better here when you were at TGP. Maybe you should go back to hanging with A bone.

Well it looks like the hot real estate run western NC was going through is gonna be tamped down. No power, no cell service, towns flooded out and one or two towns basically aren't gong to exist anymore. Some people are even saying it's Katrina level there. The governor said that all the roads in western NC are effectively closed yesterday just cause everything is so messed up.

They’re talking Tuesday-ish for full power restoration around here.

The other end of this pecan tree is on top of my buddies Chevy 1500. Caved the cab down into its self. I’m glad he wasn’t sitting in it.

I was talking to my old man today and he said in some areas of the gulf beaches cars are buried to the windows and roofline in sand. It created dunes. The streets are still covered in sand and debris so lots of cleanup.Treasure Island/Madeira they found more bodies. Five I think. The home remodeling gig should be good to go for several years to come over in those areas. I know some other people fairly near the water that just had debris or landscape damage. Gotta pick your home location very carefully in FL.

Yep. My folks live in Largo, FL. North of St. Pete and South of Clearwater but 1 mile in and 45ft elevation. They used to live on the Inner Coastal. They wanted to move inland a bit and get up on a 'hill'. When they first did that I always questioned why. Why move to Florida and not be on ocean? Now I know why.

And we have family and ties to Asheville. Been there multiple times. Scary what's happened there.

But I've always said, mother nature is going to do whatever the hell she wants. If we as humans want to live near the water (oceans and rivers) we need to understand and accept the risks. Lakes too. My brother died on a lake.

My parents are about ten feet off the water. The water came up to their garage door. My cousin just moved from CA and bought a couple houses. She bought one out on the inter coastal on st. pete beach but the other one of them is in Largo. She ain't even unpacked and all her boxes of stuff at the Largo house are all soggy from flooding. My folks were over there today helping clean some of it up.

Some pretty good footage at the 3:00 minute mark of Treasure Island:

It might be interesting to note that maybe it's a sort of revenge. I heard the republicans in NC computer simulated 3000 different voting district maps and gamed the the redistricting so that republicans will control things there for the foreseeable future.

Why did this have to go political?

This should have been in the OTC.

Oh wait....
