To your credit I don't think you are a partisan so much as an Orthodox who aligns somewhat with the Republican party. And you don't feel the need to fully identify with it because of that either.

I think so many of these nutty blue haired progressive/liberal types (And some conservatives too) have come to identify themselves solely in terms of their political affiliation because they have no other identity or community to be a part of.
Frankly I don't see the attraction in belonging to any community.

I prefer the southern US. There is still some semblance of faith left down here and people in general are more friendly and less screwball but life is also dirtier and more raw. Out west even the conservatives are atheist oddballs or some bdsm weirdos in their spare time. And have you ever noticed every coastal california home seems to have buddha statues somewhere inside? Everyone consumed with reaching their own personal material nirvana or something.

I take no pleasure in saying this: Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor, brother.

I think he's making a generalization. It's like my comment about Oregon, or pretty much anywhere. Northstate and outstate California is quite conservative and of course there are conservatives throughout.

I live in a very "liberal" city, it is dominated by them. But as with any city there is a real mix of people.

The ones who pretend like they aren't liberals, despite every single one of their positions being aligned, are easily the worst of them. "Oh no, I was just playing devil's advocate" "here, let me spew more bullshit I have no clue about including Palestine, capitalism, Christianity, and every single other libtarded talking point." "While I'm at it let me twist your words and put ones you didn't even say into your mouth and pretend like I meant something entirely different when I said some ignorant stupid bs" "Once in a while I will talk about things related to when/where and show that I have no business being when/where, because I'm actually only here to troll or attempt to convince people of the dumbest fucking shit ever conceived."

They were that. Just general observations about southern and coastal-western US cultures. It's kinda like stereotyping every Florida male as Florida man. There are a lot of good people in FL but FL man is also a reality, he just isn't everyone, lol.

...Whatchu drinkin' tonight Lisa? 😎

Non alcoholic strawberry lemonade mixed with vodka. Why? Do you have a fav drink? What should I try? Your Gomez is so weird rn, serious. There was this short goth guy that was part of our group reminds me of him. You like Addams family? You know those old black and white shows had super colorful sets irl? crazy. makes sense though like tv yellow guitars you know for contrast problems Ilike the 90s movies the best though.

Kudos on adding back the alcohol, haha. Lately I've been just been drinking vodka on the rocks with a wedge (lemon). In the summer I like douchey craft IPAs. Somewhat recently I had a great "natural" WA red that took on this smokey flavor from the fires a few years back. Dry light reds with minimal intervention are my favorite.

Definitely love the Addams family, doesn't everyone?!

And I agree Southerners are generally the most friendly people in the US. At least in my experience.
I think it sort of goes either way. The nice people are way nicer than people in the North, but rude people in the South are way more rude/confrontational than people in the North.
The friendliness in the South is startling, there's always this tinge in the back of my mind thinking that this person is trying to scam me or has some sort of ulterior motive, although 99% of the time it's just them being way more affable than a typical person in the North.

We are very nice here in the south. But all the goddamn Californians and yankees moving here are diluting the niceness pool.

my new neighbors are young shitlibs but we get along. We agreed not to speak about politics. We had a typical discussion on religion and I had to set him straight on that. I respect his opinion but don't disrespect my faith.

I don't believe in such a thing as "community". It's a construct designed to group people together as though they were monolithic. I've never felt part of a "community" in my whole life. I'm me and that's it.

For the record Lisa I never claimed to be a "Conservative," whatever that even means anymore, and just like "Liberal" has no real meaning anymore either. I haven't voted since 2012 because the political process is rigged, immoral and doomed. I am opposed to big government unlike "Liberals" (I always put 'Liberal' in quotes because they are not liberal) — and even most conservatives who are typically fine with it so long as it's used to further their pet causes via their preferred politicians.

You might be confused when I say I'm a capitalist but at the same time argue for socializing banks or space X for example. In this case I'm not saying that it would be good to socialize banks or space X, but in my view if we're going to have public funding and backstopping, then it's only fair that these institutions are controlled by the taxpayer, IE socialized. The government should not be in the business of space exploration and market interventions to begin with. These are socialist programs.

Borders are another issue like this that settles in the other direction: I don't believe in state borders because I believe in private property, not socialized (State) property. On the other hand, given that we live in a state controlled geographic area that includes taxpayer funded social programs, we can't allow mass illegal immigration and open borders.
