I went to the Megadeth show last night and a young fan tried to jump on the stage..........................

I never liked Dave. Always thought he was a pro Madonna douche like axle. Recently seen an interview with him that changed my mind about him. Pro Madonna? Fuckin spellcheck…
He probably is pro madonna, as in he buys all her albums. Most of these old dogs don't even listen to metal, many never did. Glad I'm not in that camp!, even though I'm nearing 50.

Yeah, after Dimebag and the whole Randy Blythe incident, the stage ain’t for fans anymore unless it’s a hardcore show at a VFW or a club where that’s still the thing to do. These bigger shows? Fuck off.

There’s some Madonna songs I dig. Doubt she had anything to do with writing them, but killer production and occasionally some melodies slip through I dig. “Frozen” was one of them.

I saw Govt. Mule Sunday night and regrettably nobody jumped on stage.

I agree…until I found out he has been training in bjj for years and I believe just got his back belt. A belt doesn’t make you a fighter but it shows you are well on your way though….
Dave got his brown belt. some concern about the time and method that he got it, but it is what it is. I train, and the mats don't lie, he's probably salty.

Having said that, I met him once when the Symphony album came out. Worst experience ever. it just ruined it for me, he was such a masssssive douche nozzle, i never got past it.

brown...could not remember...even if it's from a mcdojo he's still more advanced than me. And yes-he has always struck me as a massive Dbag until I saw him on gigantour years ago...he was fucking around with dream theatre during their show and seemed to be having a good time with everyone. Sometimes I think that he's cultivated that image of a dick just for show....

He's been using AXE FX since 2017, probably earlier than that.

Dave seems like the kind of guy that would bitch either way. Fan jumps the stages and interrupts the set, Dave will bitch at security for not doing there job. Security does their job, he bitches about that too.

I went to a Megadeth meet and greet back in 2021 and it wasn't a great experience. Dave looked tired, uninterested, and unhappy to be there. There was even an awkward moment where someone in the crowd made a joking comment and Dave stopped the questions. The guy said he was joking and sorry, Dave said something like "If everyone is going to joke around I'm just going to wait for someone to say something funny because I haven't heard anything yet". He seemed like he couldn't wait to leave.

All bandleaders have to be jerks sometimes. It's in the job description.

you always wonder about "famous" folks that train and if they roll. Then you see a guy like Tom Hardy lol.

you're never too old to be like a virgin bro.....being touched for the very first time by the sound of a tube MaP.....
When she originally recorded that song they had to edit out the word "ninety", as in "touched for the 91st time".
She can't do that song anymore because she lost count!

After a Megadeth concert in 98 I walked out to my pickup grabbed my Jackson King V and walked back in down to the stage. The road crew was taking everything down. Took a few minutes to wave a roadie over. I asked him if I could get my guitar signed by Dave, he grabbed my guitar and said ya man wait right here. He disappeared at the back of the side of the stage. My friend and I waited for what seemed an eternity. Then from the back of the side stage Dave comes walking out with my guitar signed. I told him thanks for the music. We shook hands and left. Meant the fucking world to me!
I'm sorry to hear others not having a good experience meeting him.

never could understand treating your fans like shit. that's an awesome story about him signing your guitar dude!

I learned a long time ago how to turn it on and off. I could be having just the most terrible day and you would not know it. Some people can't do that though. Also some people lack coping mechanisms to deal with stress. He always struck me as being that type. Between replacing drugs with adrenaline...etc....

watched a fight video from the 80's with two guys in a burger king parking lot doing KARATE!!!(I typed that with a japanese accent btw)....some dude in the crowd kept yelling "SWEEP THE LEG!!!"......

It all depends on who gave you the belt(s), and at what school. There are title holders in the UFC that have not reached that level yet. And yes, Dave somehow achieved that level very quickly...and yes, he's not a fun guy to encounter in person.
