Haha me too..

His settings are almost exact to how his settings were with his first 5150 According to my Guitar Shop Magazine where they did almost an entire issue on him and the 5150 debut..

any chance you have a scan of that? i've been trying to find a pic showing his actual 5150 settings with no luck. just curious to give them a shot and see how they differ from my usual 5150 settings.

I will not be home for a week or so, But yeh no problem remind me next week or something and I will see what I can do..

That Issue shows his settings 2-3 inches high then across the bottom of both pages of the magazine to look at while it is open..

Looks like the feet marks from the other amp that was on top are from a small amp.

Ya man, is that our very own Andy Wood in there lighting it up???

V.

PS, oh ya, great shot of Eddie's amp... I guess

Doesn't really do much for me, but cool nonetheless - as for those little circle rings, interesting indeed :student:

Like a miniature tiny amp with little tiny feet with little tiny pads that gets moved around the top of this head by a couple inches every now and then... Mysterious. I'd chalk it up to crop circles on EVH's main head. Easier to explain quite honestly :D

Whats up Brad ? Did they have Eddie's original Plexi there? I was there a few months ago and I got to see the current rig with cig burns. The real shocker for me is when Rob was showing me around. I got to see and lay my hands on Ed's original Plexi that was in the back room. That made my day for what had been a shitty year.

THAT I'd like to see!

Man, he has the amp set up extremely bright! I can't believe the level of the highs on channel 2 and 3 along with that much presence for the same channels. I have one of the first 500 amps with the same power tubes and I don't think I could stand listening to my amp set like that. I'll give it a try tonight.

I mean, is it possible that the knobs were bumped in transport?

:aww:

Treble is at 2 o'clock. (high??) Seems pretty average to me -- he's gotta cut in the live situation, plus his ears are probably lacking some high end.

channels 2 and 3 are set almost the same except less mids on channel 3 or are my eyes deceiving me? Cool pics.

No way I could set either of my 5150 III's with those settings. It would be way to bright. Ear piercing. Both my amps have JJ power tubes in them not the Sovteks but one of them has Sovtek and EH preamp tubes and the other has all JJ preamp tubes. In the owners manual for the amp it has recommended settings. These are not even close to what I see in these pics. I still have the magazine with Ed's setting for the original 5150 and they're pretty damn close to the settings in the 5150 III owners manual. I'll try to scan both tomorrow and post.

For this amp I feel 2 o'clock is very high (at least mine is) . I can't put mine higher than 10 o'clock and the presence is always below noon. Granted, I play LOUD through a Mesa standard cab w/ V30's. Also, as you turn up the volume it gets even brighter.
