It's a long shot, but maybe Tim Krueger will be incarcerated at the same facility that Schaffer ends up in. If so, maybe he can use his 1 hour of weekly internet time to field gear questions for us.

I’m always wondering where all the Larry’s are? Outside of the four or five guys here I’ve never seen a Larry ever. You never see them for sale used.

You never see them for sale used.
Probably rarer in the US than in Europe. I saw probably 3 or 4 used Larry's for sale in the last 3 years. The Dinos are usually sold within 3 or so weeks but his Wrecky was on German eBay for months and nobody bought it.

You never see them for sale because they are god mode amps dude lol

I will literally DIE with my 822.

If it wasn’t for you and eddy I’m literally finding only one other guy on YouTube that has a Larry clip. You’d think one of these big name youtubers would have gotten ahold of one by now. I want to hear more of them and I would think more guys would want people to hear theirs

Larry doesnt cater to youtube shills :dunno:

He cares about real musicians making music

I used to search for Larrys way back early 2000's, but never ever saw them ever here in the USA/online.

You cannot get Jon Scaffer's tone without a LARRY Amp. PERIOD. You can get close, about 75%, close but that's it.
A Splawn will not get you there. I don't care what Jon said about Splawn. He was talking out his ass. He knows damn well you can't get there without a Larry.

Quickrods are great amps. Seriously. But the tone that people are talking about with Schaffer is almost entirely the low mid tightness and impact of the palm mutes on the larry. He's mixed and matched and layered a bunch of amps. But I know what everyone is talking about with "that tone" because I've chased it my entire life.

The quickrod is too scooped (especially in the low midrange) and the low lows are too loose. You can't do schaffer tones with it alone. You can get just as "close" with an 800 or 900 or almost any other gainy marshall amp, as long as you have the right speakers and low output pafs.
This.

Any Larry clip that I've heard that's not a phone clip(Dan, Eddy), you can hear the 'swell' of the notes/chords and that's a testament to a great amp. It's hard to describe but it's kind of a 'tell' on a really great sounding amp. My Naylor does that somewhat. Clarity for days while the strings still sound 'thick' and 'big' not thin like and EVH Stealth maybe...the Stealth also has great clarity but something about the single note stuff became thin for me.
With all due respect to the Splawn guys, there's no freakin way any Splawn is going to do a good Larry impersonation. Not gonna happen. You have a much better shot at having Shea, Jeremy or another modder take care of your Marshall and maybe push the lower mids up in the process.

Regarding ordering from Larry, the man is over 70 now and it's a 3+ year wait....

I'd love to get one of those!!!
If the price wasn't completely outrageous, I'd buy immediately

LOL.

Any idea what channel profile Jon used on bis preamps?
Preamp is based on DINO939's British HotRod and California Clean.

Price for that Wrecky 35 was about 3-4k€ which might have been the reason nobody bought it and used Dinos are usually priced at around 2-3k€ but an old mate of mine bought a Dino preamp for ~400€ about 15 years ago.

Larry is not over 70 yet. He is the same age as my father who was born in 1962. But, 3+ year wait time is true 😆

Not a fan of that Highway to Hell recording. Sounds like a recto to me.

Dan’s clips sound good.
