Just scored an Ibanez RG550!!

Just won a 1999 Ibanez RG550 in black! It's still in excellent condition and has the Edge trem, AANJ and a Maple board.

I was after a decent shred guitar and dismissed Ibanez for ages because i never used to be able to get on with them. But recently after giving them another go, i found that they feel pretty good for me now!! I guess tastes change after a while.

I was thinking about buying the RG550 20th Anny model, but i got this one for much less and id rather have the AANJ than the older neck joint anyway. Also i wanted the guitar to be Black and the 20th Black only comes with a Rosewood board. I wanted the Maple.

All i need now is a set of Pink Dimarzio PAF Pro's and it's ready for shreddin!! :D :rawk:

You can't go wrong with RG550s if you're looking for a shred guitar...

Cool man. I used to have a black 550 w/maple board. I still have the body, but I refinished it and through on a jem7dbk neck. Of course, it's been sitting in its case for the past year because I no longer play 6 string. :(

I should have the guitar by the middle of this week hopefully, so il get some decent shots of the guitar then and post them! The pics in the auction were nothing special, so il do a couple shots of my three main axes when it arrives!

Thats what i thought too Jaakko, theres a reason so many shred guys used the RG550's... because the necks play nice and fast!! :rock:

That sounds like a cool guitar Pete, got any pics?? Is the 7DBK the neck with the screw head inlays?

I actually wanna get an RG550 someday (in Desert Yellow). Even though I prefer 7 string guitars, there's just something about the 550 that I really dig.

I was going to buy a Roadflare Red 20th Anny 550, but seems you can only get them on the used market via ebay, and theyre like $1000. Iv seen plenty of RFR's go for a fairbit less than that..

Rich at Ibanez rules has a Desert Yellow 550 20th anny in stock, but it may have been bought by now... DY and RFR are awesome colours!

Damn straight!!! I actually want a nice white superstrat like John Norum has, too. :lol: :LOL: And a Yngwie strat w/ a floyd, and... :scared:
 
Grats man! The RG550 is a killer guitar, I just got mine about a few weeks ago from JKD who is awesome to deal with :thumbsup: It's black with the AANJ maple neck and a pearloid pickguard, breed in the bridge and air norton in the neck. Recently put new 9's on it and that guitar feels so nice :rock:

Mark Cameron owns that white superstrat that John Norum used to play, its a custom made one by a guy in Sweden i think. Incredible guitar! Its the guitar in the Back On The Streets video..
