Just scored an Ibanez RG550!!

Cool man. I used to have a black 550 w/maple board. I still have the body, but I refinished it and through on a jem7dbk neck. Of course, it's been sitting in its case for the past year because I no longer play 6 string.

That sounds like a cool guitar Pete, got any pics?? Is the 7DBK the neck with the screw head inlays?

Yes it has the screw inlays.

Grats man! The RG550 is a killer guitar, I just got mine about a few weeks ago from JKD who is awesome to deal with It's black with the AANJ maple neck and a pearloid pickguard, breed in the bridge and air norton in the neck. Recently put new 9's on it and that guitar feels so nice

Did it have 10s on it...I really couldn't remember whether I'd put regular or super slinky on there .. heh

No clue, I never played it with the old strings, I took all the strings off and did a full setup

It plays great. It looks good on a dark stage, looks acceptable from 10 feet away, at 2 feet away it looks like a monkey could've done a better job.

Dude, I LOVE the 550s, but it seems you can almost never find one in decent condition. Or if you do, the asshole wants $1500 for it.

I'd love to pick one up someday.

Yeah tell me about it! I was looking at getting a 20th Anny 550, but on ebay people are selling them for like £899 used in the UK. Im not paying that when i see RG's go for decent prices every now and then!

I got a decent deal on this and its still in great condition!

LOL! I found a horrible old medley vid of me playing w. my RG-507. It's basically same as the RG550 but it doesn't have a pickguard. Excuse me for my poor feel, vibrato and bends on the vid. I've improved a lot since those days

I actually wanna get an RG550 someday (in Desert Yellow). Even though I prefer 7 string guitars, there's just something about the 550 that I really dig.

I was going to buy a Roadflare Red 20th Anny 550, but seems you can only get them on the used market via ebay, and theyre like $1000. Iv seen plenty of RFR's go for a fairbit less than that..

Rich at Ibanez rules has a Desert Yellow 550 20th anny in stock, but it may have been bought by now... DY and RFR are awesome colours!

I liked the look of them, but to be honest im not dead set on having the original block neckjoint... i like the AANJ as its so easy to play. So i thought this deal was worth going for instead of a 20th!

I don't own a digicamera so that puts some restrictions on it.
