Just scored an Ibanez RG550!!

Sustain on it is sick for a FR guitar.

Perfect spec for a shred guitar for me!!

Im actually thinking of buying PAF pros for my 550... Pink PAF Pros..

Pink ones would look amazing!
I like Paf Pros a lot; good amount of bite while remaining their smoothness.

Likewise, i have used PAF pros before and even in an Ibanez and they always sounded great! And Pink PAF pros would just be excellent haha!

Im not sure which singlecoil i would put in though. I know Paul Gilbert uses the Jem single in his guitars, and when he has the bridge + middle selected it sounds great for that twangy percussive sound! Maybe il try that out..

I think that'd work very well! I'd like to get my hands on an Ibanez RG-565 too; I'd put in a Dimarzio Paf Pro as bridge pup and a Dimarzio HS-3/YJM as neck pup, get the body refinished to white or some bengal tiger graphics w. matching headstock and get the fretboard scalloped.

Those look really cool, but i dont see them around often. I bet they are killer guitars though!!

Yes, Scott owns a red RG565 and those guitars indeed have the H-S pup config. I was negotiating about a deal on a black one from Germany exactly a year ago but I skipped it because the seller wanted 450€ for it. Guess if I'm still kicking myself in the nuts for not buying that one?!

I will do! Il post some pics of the RG, my GMW and my Gibson R7 Les Paul together.

Between these 3 guitars, i can pretty much get any tone for anything i ever need to play! I have the GMW for stratty stuff and 80s hard rock. I have the LP for when that Sykes/Aldrich moment is needed, and then il have the RG550 for when i need to tear it up Racer X style

You have a great collection of guitars with nice variation! I searched for a used post ´04 LP Custom for 2½-3 months w/o success and I finally gave up. Dunno when I'll start a new search for one or if I'm buying some other guitar instead (YJM Strat, Ibanez J-Custom/RG550/RG565). I think I saw your post about the R7 in some thread? Isn't it a PLEK'd one? So far the sweetest LP I've ever tested was a R7 Goldtop with PLEK'd frets, long neck tenon and non-weight relieved body.

Yup thats exactly what mine is! I had my one actually setup by the local pro shop in london, and they said that they had a whole bunch of people coming in with Gibsons that were factory PLEK'd.. and apparently they were not done all that well. They checked mine and setup mine again using their PLEK machine and it plays miles better now, its like a night and day difference compared to how it played from the factory.

They said that theres plenty of companies using PLEK machines now, but it seems some guys or companies have more experience using them than others.

Yup..kinda bluish/purplish/pinkish depending on the light.

Berkleebill it was did a lot of the work on this guitar...I think he was the one who did the EMGs, tarted it up with the new guard and bling...I missed it first time round but called dibs on it....trying to remember who sold it to me (cobrahead1030? )but he came through on my 'teh dibs' and offered it straight up to me....cool beans

Yup...doesn't look so good tho, apparently a prior owner had sanded off the Ibby logo..trashed it a little but there's no mistaking this guitar for anything other than

Exactly!! I have a Kramer body in my garage that is that same colour, although doesnt look as shiny as yours because the finish is worn pretty bad.

Me and my dad just recently stripped the paint from an old Kramer Showster body and had the local auto sprayers re-spray it for us. Its like a flip flop white.. it shines white and then when you move it, its like a golden colour! looks very cool!
