Anyone into knives at all? I'm not really a knife hobbyist I just find them handy for homestead chores so I have accumulated a few over the past six or seven years.

I have a half dozen Condors, lol, because of the good price and decent quality. I have a Desert Romper for general duty that I carry on my belt for daily chores around the ranch. I made a leather adapter so I can carry it ranger style which makes getting in and out of vehicles easier and my chainsaw won't load it with saw dust. I have a Golok, a SS Ironpath, and a SS Parang for chopping the shoots off my live oaks. They were $50 each which was too good a deal to pass up. Lot less work than using stupid branch trimmers. I bought the wife a Bushlore, she really likes that knife for her kitchen and is a great all around chore knife for camping. The kid bought a Selknam which is a brute of a knife.

I have a nice Buck 124 Frontiersman for gutting and quartering and I bought the kid a Buck skinner a few years back that I borrow for caping. I had a buck 119 but it disappeared into the squalor of the single wide and I never found it when I tore the trailer down. Gutted a few deer with that one before my wife turnt it into a kitchen chopper

I actually found a US made Schrade filet knife on the property. Has stag handles but someone broke the very tip off but it's still a decent knife and the break is small so will eventually grind out. I like Finnish knives. My old man cleaned many walleyes with a Marttini filet knife so I bought one of those as well.

I have a couple small folders, a nice Boker and a couple cheap-o gas station folders but I always hate those fiddly little blades compared to a good fixd blade.

Anyways the past few days I was thinking about a nice folder I could keep on me at bar gigs and stuff so I bought an AGA Campolin Zero switchblade on sale through Grindworx. I'm pretty stoked to get it. I been wanting a switchblade for a while so that's my latest addition. I know none of what I've mentioned is much more exciting than utility equipment so I'm sure one of you guys has some nice knives. What kind of stuff do you like?

TL;DR

I guess you guys tear at steaks with your teeth!

Nobody?

I cut my steaks into long strips with scissors and swallow them whole like this.

I don't know how to time stamp shit but it starts about 2 minutes in.

I am asking a favor that you not junk this thread up with off topic stuff. I would really appreciate it.

Considering your typically condescending attitude towards me I should deny your request. I understand the desire to stay on topic so I'll oblige. 🖕:checkthisout:

I'll try to be less condescending with you from now on. One thing that is somewhat bothersome is having to put you on ignore when you log in and start hitting the laugh emoji on all my posts. It junks up my notifications when you hit it like ten or fifteen times in a row. It's annoying at the time but later when I think about it it cracks me up so I guess it's worth it. Either you are doing it to mess with me or you think my shit is funnier than I do which I somehow doubt, lol

Anyways I was watching Outsiders and digging Johnny Cade's switchblade so I thought I'd get me one since most of my knives are fixed blades. I also wanted something I can carry in a bar to gigs discretely. In TX that means less than 5.5 inch blade length. In the scene Johnny has a custom Hubertus with the shell puller bolster and stag handles, a rare knife. I cannot afford one but it got me looking and I ordered an AGA. All the cool switchblades are always sold out.

I have about 30 cheap home shopping network (or whatever) knives that a friend gave me like 20 years ago. He had a ton of knives ranging from little pocket knives all the way up to katanas...... because all drunk one night the dope bought some giant knife package with probably a couple hundred different blades. Cost him a fortune for junk. We all laughed at him. :ROFLMAO:

BTW the middle finger was meant ironically.

My vision is bad I didn't see the finger until you mentioned it.

A lot of guys go for the junk knives. I don't understand it. They aren't worth the few dollars they cost. Ebay is full of Paki made junk "damascus steel" blades that look cool but will hurt you when they snap. Great decorations and that's about it. A lot of them won't even take an edge. If you find a blade and the steel isn't listed or it just says "HC" it's full on junk. Modern blade steel has some amazing metallurgy to it. Some of the latest steels would be considered almost magical in times past. Magnacut, for example.

@Stripped Rights this is the blade I am thinking about next, if I can swing the money and track one down. They get scooped up fast by the dang hoarders, pretty much any quality stiletto does. AGA Campolin Batwing, it's like a mini sword:

Looks like they'd make good toe knives!

Hopefully not a bunch of pakistani junk. Whatcha got that's good @Unacceptablenorm?
No paki junk. I'll take pics this weekend. I'm also a no spin knife thrower as a few have seen on TGP a whole ago.
But I assure you, no paki crap. Nothing super high end either. But good knives.

Duffle bags full of 'em. I usually buy $25 S&W Chinese crap to destroy at work. Or $50 Boker autos. I have a nice collection of Benchmades and Microtechs I carry when I'm not working.

Nice knife Floyd. My buddy is consumed with the magnacut stuff currently. One of the latest super steels....
Yeah I hear good things about it. I’m still gushing over M390. Better catch up eh ? 🤣

Honestly I never even heard of Cru wear until I looked at this knife. We’ll find out how good it is soon enough. It should be delivered today.
