Pfffft, Pantera > Slayer? That’s wild. “pussies”, predictable term
from a Pantera fan, indicating you equate performative “masculinity” as validation for your deep insecurities. Pantera is the metal band version of a gang of racist 20-something man baby bros yelling, “Come get some, faggot!”, from the back of a pick up truck (with truck nuts, ‘cause insecurity), while hurling empty beer cans at one scrawny defenseless 14 year old. Vulgar display of Mom & Dad didn’t love me so I’m entitled to take it out on the world.

This fucking forum is man baby central.
You got dropped on your head a lot as a baby didn’t you?

now this is the content i was hoping for @VonBonfire @simonfrewler !!!

Love Slayer and to me they are more interesting than any other thrash band outside of the Crumbsuckers (who are my fav).

Yes, guitar playing wise they were loose and the solos were pretty wild, but it was reckless abandon and sounded very Evil back then. They have some killer riffs and their chromatic type of riffing was different than most in that era. Dave Lombardo is my fav thrash drummer - I felt like he was Bill Ward on speed. So many dramatic fills and time changes. Araya's bass playing will never be considered above average, but his voice was perfect. I never cared about the lyrics though. They never really sold out either and were pretty consistent til the end.
The Crumbsuckers were one of the best crossover bands ever, and very much underrated and underappreciated. I have both Life of Dreams and B.O.M.B on vinyl, and still have my old Crumbsuckers T-shirt from high school (although it's a bit snug on me these days :ROFLMAO:).

They were the only Thrash band to have their own “eruption” moment with Dave’s double bass break in Angel of Death.
Slayer mirrored Metallica in a way where I can and do always listen to their 80’s Albums, including Seasons but rarely listen to anything they did after. Never listen to the stuff without Jeff. Not a loyalist, just don’t care for the music. Even though they didn’t pussy out like Metallica did, they just lost it for me with the writing and Tom got consistently screamy with little dynamic which he wasn’t before. But they were still a must see live show the whole time. Best live band experience out of the big 4, by a mile.

IME Kreator and ACDC shirt dudes would be hurling beer cans out the t-tops and then slamming on the brakes to kick my ass when I flipped them off for it. You haven't been to enough parties if you haven't had to deal with an angry fringe leather jacket mullet guy chasing the kids around the bonfire.

Pantera fans are much more pleasant as long as you like Pantera but will kick your ass if you say Pantera sucks or if you play Bob Marley music at their parties. You seem like you have a problem with having a good time in general but that in itself is pretty metal so rock on brother.

is this why you're username is von bonfire?

Yes and it's why I have a fringe leather jacket, listen to kreator and acdc, still drive a trans am with t-tops, and drink cheap beer and beat kids up on the weekends for fun and sell three joints for ten bucks to other local thugs for more Coors Light Extra Gold moolah.

this is the exact image i had in my head too

i've never even touched a cigarette except to help clean up the side of the road lol
So you've never just handed some smoker their cigs when they were within your arm's reach like say out on a camping trip? Sorry I can't hand you a beer I've never touched one before. No I can't pass you that sandwich I never eat those. You don't seem very helpful but that's the exact image I had in my head of you.

oh its way worse i'm afraid

i'm the guy who tells you why cigarettes, alcohol and cold cut sandwiches are bad for you if you ask me to hand them to you...sometimes i do it if i just feel you're thinking about it

you should see my party invite list on any given friday night!

Every tune was like mult songs in one song and none of their riffs ever got monotonous because they jumped off them so quick. Love both of those records and wish they had done more. Both are killer

Love them, like the rest of the big 4 but I love each because they're so different from each other. I like Slayer because they are everything the others aren't. Their lead playing is probably the least capable, but it's not about that with them.

I fucking love early Slayer.

With three of the Big 4 co-headlining on the Clash of the Titans tour Slayer killed it. Don't get me wrong, Megadeth and Anthrax were great live, but I felt bad for them having to follow Slayer. The energy, the volume, the pits, there really is nothing that compares to seeing Slayer live in the late '80s-early '90s.

Who gaf about theory? Slayer fucking rules and that's a fact.

It was this concert too. One of those shouting Slayer fans at the beginning of Hell Awaits is me. They even played my all time favorite Slayer song, Jesus Saves.
