I see a lot on the net about load boxes and attenuation. The companies that produce these intend for them to be used lightly. Which one was made to be punished at full tilt by EVH if any?

No, the companies that build them dont intend for them to be used lightly. Everyone uses the same resistors, no voodoo in there. A 100 watt amp is small potatoes in the world of electronics.
