Totally agree. Ellefson is a married pastor, with kids older than his teenybopper jerkmate, and he rubs one out for her on camera? How fucking stupid can you be? Sorry, his situation is a result of his own stupidity, and he gets what he gets.
 
My advice to anyone that threatens you with releasing blackmail pics or dick pics...release them yourself first before they get a chance. That way you can get a good angle to your dangle and show yourself at top form.

Definitely see this point. The guy is incredibly famous and stupid af. What did he think would happen?

When I made the thread I thought he just cheated on his wife, which isn't cool but still nobody's business and imo would have been being "cancelled". Now I do see Mave's side and why he couldn't have Megadeth be a permanent wank meme.

I remember I got an email with an old password in the subject line and when I opened it, there were threats of releasing a video of me wacking to porn to my friends list unless I sent 2k worth of bit coin. I thought what a lame blackmail attempt. It would surprise nobodyservice.

But yeah it was a shitty thing for him to do but was it enough that he should lose his career? We overlook guys actually screwing someone other than their wives hell some are even celebrated for it. This is the equivalent of calling phone sex. As long as she was an adult it should have been between him, his wife and God. He isn't the first preacher to let temptation get the better of him. At least he handled it no pun intended like a man.

And isn't forgiveness written into the whole religion? Even though I don't think he needs forgiveness from Mustaine.

That's my guess anyway. Lars is not great, everyone knows it. Sometimes he isn't even good at all. BUT what he does works for Metallica and tbh back in the heydays he wasn't all that bad. For mainstream rock/metal at the time of "One" Lars killed it in a good way. He has some decently yet odd timing with fills which I like too.

About 20 years ago I put a prog-metal band together and we ended up getting this dude for a 2nd guitar player who wasn’t all that great, but he had a fucking amazing personality. That band broke up 17 years ago but he was one of my groomsmen at my wedding last year and in the band days, what he couldn’t play, he made up for by getting us a shitload of paying gigs, nonstop.

It’s been said for years that Lars’ biggest role back then was promoting the shit out of the band. I mean, the dude had a spot on an album before they even had a band. :ROFLMAO: I know there was a period it was talked about getting rid of him, I think around Puppetts?, but who knows how that would have worked out for them. Lars is a total type-A personality and James definitely isn’t, so that balance is most definitely a major contributing factor that shaped the band and their success.
 
For all anyone knows, he could have all the permission in the world from his wife to fuck around. I highly doubt Shannon Tweed thought she was going to be the last woman Simmons would ever fuck. If that were the case, announcing it to the world would most likely backfire with the whole pastor thing as well as putting his wife’s personal sex life in the media.

The chick wasn’t illegal, fuck it. When I was 21 I was banging a chick in her mid-50’s, it was great. She was hot, had fuck-you money and only kept me around to bang and give me rides. :ROFLMAO: I got into a relationship and put an end to it, no one was hurt, no one felt used. No harm, no foul.

Megadeth's last album "Dystopia" was actually a very good album, you should give it a listen. I though "The System Has Failed" was pretty good too, especially Chris Poland's lead work on that album. So it hasn't all been bad since RIP.
 
Megadeth isn’t a band, it’s a business. I’m sure the decision was based around whatever was felt necessary to keep the paychecks maximized. Doubt there’s any moral reasoning here. If it was thought that Dave E doing what he was doing was better for business, they’d be handing him phone numbers.

The flip side here is also Dave E knows better. I don’t say that in a holier than thou “he shouldn’t be doing that” sort of way. He’s an adult and can do whatever he wants. What I mean is it’s idiotic in this day and age to assume that anything you do online will be kept private, especially when you live in the public eye like a musician or actor. If you pull your wang out, you do so knowing it’s only a matter of time before it ends up on a blog somewhere.

He may not be that great anymore, but I think his drumming on MOP and AJFA is pretty damn good and very creative. He admitted that he quit practicing in the late 90's, so that really contributed to his decline as a drummer.
