Looks like Dave Mustaine has joined the woke cancel culture.

Everyone is saying "why did he cheat on his wife?" but maybe he had sex with someone underage?
 
I'm trying to figure out why the word WOKE is in the title.
56 yo Christian pastor jacks off on video for a girlfriend who's younger than his own daughter.

His business partner going on 40 (at times very rocky years) decides to DO THE RIGHT THING.

And yet the story is about Mustaine getting Woke?

Dave Mustaine and Billy Corgan are cut from the exact same cloth, and it's rare that I'd side with Mustaine on this type of thing, but I don't blame Dave for this one in the slightest. The Daves have had legal issues for years, and since he went born again, this type of thing would seem like a deal breaker.

Ellefson is an idiot for putting himself in this position. Dave has a right to be pissed for having to answer questions about his bandmate's stupidity.

Ellefson would be nothing without Mustaine. Mustaine would probably have the had the same career that he's had even if Ellefson weren't a part of it. The songwriting always wins.

The System Has Failed was a great album IMO. It came out right as I was getting into Megadeth. I put it right behind RIP. Tears from a Vial is a great song.

When you find out that Vinnie Colaiuta flew in for a a weekend, tracked the entire album, then left... that's fucking bonkers. Goes back to the old saying: "Your favorite drummer's favorite drummer is Vinnie Colaiuta." The dude is a monster.
 
All I can think about is all the fucked up shit that went on while everyone in the band was a junkie(Dave, Jr, Gar, Poland), but its lost to history. And not recorded for all the world to see and discuss.

When it first dropped it appeared he simply cheated on his wife. Sure that isn't super cool but in my opinion it is a personal matter. None of Mave's business. Even this other thing I kind of still feel the same. The only reason I can see Mave's point now is because Elfs photo is now online for the world to see, which could make Megadeth a meme.

Otherwise it's his personal business and yes it is pretty much caving to the new cancel culture. I see both sides and ehhh seeing the dudes photo online is kind of disturbing so I can understand but on the flip side I saw a good point. Remember when Tommy Lee's sex tape leaked for the world to see and Motley Crue booted him out? Yeah, they didn't do that, because cancel culture wasn't a thing until this shitty decade.

I had no idea who Vinnie Colaiuta is. Checked out his Wikipedia. Wow. That dude has literally played on everything. What a resume.

First off, I do understand where you are coming from.

I think the Tommy Lee thing is not a good analogy. First off we're talking 1995. Still in the hangover of the most decadent
decade in music history. Crue were still selling albums and tickets and Tommy was a major 'character' of the band.

I couldn't believe the two Dave's have been doing it since 1983, and the relationship has had lots of issues during that time.

It's 2021 and the times have changed. Again.

1921 - Fatty Arbuckle's career is trashed over a accusation that was denied, and medically refuted.
1973 - Jimmy Page jets around the US with a 15 year old girl (who'd previously slept with Bowie)
1995 - Tommy Lee
2021 - Born again Christian screws up. Born again boss fires him to avoid the ridicule.

Well people can take the thread title how they want, I'm not going to argue about it and I'm not going to edit it either. I see both sides of the coin.
 
Dig through the comments on the most popular metal news sites. There are reports of Jr following several 13, 15 year old underage girls on Instagram. That in itself may not mean anything but coupled with his actions with an (best case scenario) barely legal girl, it doesn't bode well for him and is indicative of the worst kind of mental disorder (being a pedo). I'm sure Mustaine knows more than the general public and for once he did the right thing by shelving Ellefson. Mustaine likely recognizes that his 'friend' may need therapy, let alone having to deal with any potentially forthcoming legal issues. Just because some rock stars got away with salacious behaviour in the past doesn't make it ok now.

Yeah, me too. Lol And I tend to save my sympathy for people who are stricken with misfortune beyond their control, not for rockstars who have life by the tail and fuck it up with their own stupidity.
 
In the age of smartphones, anything you save on your phone or send to someone else can end up in the wild. If you're going to take a pic in the first place, at least be smart enough to exclude your face unless you have no qualms with the world seeing it. Celebrities above all should know this.
 
I think maybe that part's of the thrill for them?
