What a crock of BS. Of course he had a choice. He's a grown man, right? Who was speaking out against it that he felt so forced to do it? Just "the way things are in the world". What a weak mindset and way of thinking.

 weak people are emboldening these fucking mobs of shit.

Lynch is a die hard liberal !
He changed his name because he is part of the problem, not part of the solution!

It's just a name dude. He is 900 years old. It is not like Lynch Mob is packing arenas to see him change his diaper between sets. Some of these people want to see people get upset about stuff like this. Best thing to do is just go "Oh ok, I'll change my name" and just walk away.

He should have retired it after Wicked Sensation ... nothing they have released since then has even come close being half as good. In fact I can't figure out why he didn't retire the name as soon as his first record contract ended given he always said he didn't want his name in a band name after the whole Dokken thing

Agree. Wicked Sensation was the pinnacle of Lynch, at least for me. I Like the KXM stuff more than any other side project he's done since.

Exactly.

I love all the people soiling themselves over a decision that does them zero harm. What?? George Lynch didn't make the decision that I would have him make??? Oh no, the fucking sky is falling!!!! lol

Discussion is one thing, but I'm not going to piss my pants over what someone else decides to name THEIR band. Lots of people advocate the liberty of live-and-let-live, but when someone does something that they don't like, they lose their damn mind, even if it doesn't affect them.

Can you still name your own band whatever you want? Okay, good. So then point to the place on the doll where someone else's band name change hurt you.

I don't care what he calls himself !
We have a problem in society of people being offended and thinking they are doing good by giving into the mob mentality. George is not and has not been relevant since Dokken.
I doubt many people even know who Lynch Mob is ?
So to say he had to chang his name is a joke !
Maybe he wanted to be relevant ?
So by standing up for the liberal cause he can be in the news again !
Too bad he can't be in the news because he is writing good songs !

George Wallace has a nice ring to it????

At some point this cancel stuff has to stop though. Next thing some peeps will say that such and such lyrics are rayzist, this riff is rayzist, this style of music is rayzist... enough. Stop.

No such thing as "hate speech"... only free speech that some group may hate.

I agree 100%. Blacks use the "N" word in almost every single ghetto rap song out there, white kids and unfortunately some white adults sing along with the lyrics, such fucking hypocrites. Maybe soy boy George thinks that blacks will now be singing "River of Love" or "Dance of the Dogs" in the streets while rioting and looting for reparations, he is so brave to do this since it may affect sales for his 2021 local bar tour.

George is a diehard liberal. He knows what would be said about the name, and took it upon himself to cancel the name as the reparations for the name were sure to show up. I don't agree with what would be said about the name, but I understand why he decided to nip it in the bud before it bloomed into a pile of crap.

It's all about not "offending" someone in the pursuit of making music. Sad to see this kind of crap happening, but I get it.

Diehard liberal George should change the name to "White Guilt" and give all proceeds to blacks.

Maybe we are going a bit hard on George reading all the comments here including my own, but the bottom line and issue is, there is no in between anymore as Michael Sweet mentioned. You are either on the band wagon and accepting your shame and guilt for being "privileged" or you are a racist. If he feels he needs to drop the name because he believes in the cause, you have to respect that. I think what he could have done if he really felt strongly about it though, is to make sure proceeds from past shows and records went to some sort of charity. Now would he do that? Not sure.. we all have to survive and pay the bills. Anyway, I think " Lynched Sensation" is a pretty cool name, suitable for all meanings and interpretations!

Exactly. It is his band and everyone has their own views, opinions, etc. Doesn't f'ing matter. I have friends on both sides of every issue in this world and they are still my friends. I could care less what they believe. I like certain things, they don't, who gives a shit? Still my friend and the best part is we have great "conversations", not arguments.

If people in this country would say "oh yeah, I think you are right", "good point", or "yeah, that sucked what happened in the past" every once in awhile, instead of one-upping each other, crap wouldn't have got this bad. If I tell someone my Mom is dying of cancer, I don't want them to say "oh my Mom has cancer too". I want them to just acknowledge it and say "sorry about that man".

Everyone is an expert now and worse with the flow of news from every direction. Every time I see "bet I won't get a share" from a friend or family member, I want to punch them in the face. There is a grey area in this world and I sit firmly in it. I refuse to let anyone tell me that I have to be this or that. F that. I don't want to be a sheep. I'm a third party. The American that likes to drink beer and play guitar. You can have all of the other garbage. LOL

Once upon an age ago, most people in this country could have differing opinions on things yet still have a civil conversation about it. It seems for the most part that is a dying consideration and everybody just wants to yell. Especially the "Woke" crowd. People have told me several times how they have lost long time friends for good in the past 3 or 4 years. I think social media has created this mess. People now feel that their opinion is the gold standard for all to live their lives by and life just don't work that way folks.

For the most part I have been lucky with my friends and we can have conversations about current events without it boiling over. Agree to disagree. A concept that goes a long way and creates a whole lot less drama. Ok, its Friday. Carry On and Cheers

I just hate how everything is a trigger AND everybody is blasting their opinions and feels that they need to. Some things need not be addressed in social media in general. The sad thing is that people say something and lose a lifelong friend because of their opinion. I don't do that. It's just not worth it to me.

YES!!! You know it is a shame because it shows how weak people are. Social media has some good points, especially for long lost friends to stay in touch, sharing memories with family members, etc. In so many cases though, I've seen the most shy people act like stand-up comedians when they are typing something on FB.
