For sure. The V is missing some top end detail, but it has balls and doens't feel processed. I need amps that kick you in the chest when you chug. You’d pay more for a V than a VII?
YMMV of course.

Cool. Just making sure that wasn't a typo. Haven't got to try a VII.For sure. The V is missing some top end detail, but it has balls and doens't feel processed. I need amps that kick you in the chest when you chug.

I remember those days, and they're long gone!! Many of my Mark IIIs were sub-1K. Now I think sub 2K is a deal. Essentially and historically, IIIs have tracked about 1/3 the price of an equitable IIC+.Still don’t like any of those prices on the III and the IV. I’m probably too hardwired from years of sub 1K MKIII’s and $1200 MK IV’s but I wouldn’t even look at one unless it was 1500 or less. That probably translates into I’ll never get one then but I’m Ok with that.
What's the 380 for, in case a cat attacks you?I'll still take a handgun. depending on what I'm doing and where I'm going, I'm carrying a 380, 9mm or 10mm.
Nah he always runs a timer for Will It ChugI'm pretty sure that timer is a direct diss towards Dinesh. 27-28 seconds, DONE. IN YO' FACE!
Especially with how Ola looks twice to the camera after it.
But yeah, sounds pretty effin' gnarly here.
I hear more mids as well and I don't think that's a bad thing......good ear Racer......I think I hear the 'more midrange' in the tone with those settings, vs what I remember with the 4 originals I had. But, I dig it as that's how mine sounded after I boosted them...gain way back on the amp, of course. This one sounds 'no boost needed' for more upper mids.
This is a killer sounding amp. Imo.
when I'm in civilized areas; usually it's a backup for the 9 or 10mm. besides, my 380 has some nasty ammo in it (like my 9 and 10mm).What's the 380 for, in case a cat attacks you?
No doubt. I also enjoy the added challenge of carrying multiple weapons that in theory, could be used against me, but ultimately, never will.I'll still take a handgun. depending on what I'm doing and where I'm going, I'm carrying a 380, 9mm or 10mm.
Word. I quite like the 500. More than the 460. But my G40 is still my primary in the mountains.when I'm in civilized areas; usually it's a backup for the 9 or 10mm. besides, my 380 has some nasty ammo in it (like my 9 and 10mm).
and, it's easier to carry than my S&W 500 mag

There have been quite a few sell for 5 digits. Happy for those guys!Theres a nice looking HRG on reverb for 10k, is that what these amps go for these days? I thought they was in the 13k range.
I'm the opposite. I got the 460 over the 500.Word. I quite like the 500. More than the 460. But my G40 is still my primary in the mountains.
There's an ass for every saddle! In hindsight I think my 460 just wasn't a good example. It was more attractive than it was functional. The fine people at the S&W PC shop did a stupid thing & fitted it with a lightweight hammer that was a problem seeing as how the 460 uses a rifle primer that has a thicker cup. Plus, and this is hard for a man to say, it was honestly too long.I'm the opposite. I got the 460 over the 500.
I personally wouldnt pay 10k or higher, but i guess thats the market for them, guys in other threads bitch how the reissue is too pricey and talk like you can buy the OG for a few thousand more, but i cant see myself spending 10 or 12k for it, i will get the reissue and since i never owned the OG i doubt i will be disappointed. I dont feel that $3500 is too much for the reissue when you compare it to the selling prices in todays market of the original. I dont care about the extra options and versatility of the VII because i only care about IIC mode and if the reissue gives me a closer sound to the OG i will be happy. There have been quite a few sell for 5 digits. From my perspective as a player & gigger, not a collector, as soon as C+ prices are 5.5K and up in all honestly I'd happily take a RI instead. I have to look at them in terms of tone & feel relative to the price, which is where my comments earlier came from.

Way to derail a thread.
