I'm keeping mine stock except for the R2 mod.

Played it a bit yesterday. Will have more time this coming week to give it a good run through...

Waiting for caps to arrive for the cap job it needs. It still has the originals! Oof!

Also, I'm going to redo the triode to pentode wiring on the two outer sockets. They left the OG dropping resistor just dangling and its a bit too sloppy for my OCD receptors.....lol...

Cleaned it up and added the R2 mod. I also disconnected the red B+ lead to the reverb transformer and pulled the reverb tube. I pulled the reverb tank out completely from the headshell. I hate spring reverb! The head now gets great ventilation for the fan.

I'm not going to mod it further. Tomorrow, I'll just replace the filter caps and be done with it....

No silicone to hold them from top soldering? I’d be concerned with micro cracking.

Looks great - I have a ton I need to fix in my Aldrich. Absolutely not how I would have executed it personally.

I used glue. I prefer the glue I use much more than silicone. It's a little harder, but still has a little flex to absorb the 60 hz. Buzz.

What about the 220 center of board, the blue radial, and the cluster of electro’s on the bottom left corner? I assume the radial will require lifting the board.

It’s no wonder people turn these away for rework, they’re a lot to maintain.

I'm not going to mess with those. I will send it to MESA in January to get those replaced...

Test mules for the afternoon:

I was trying out all my different cabs and speakers and I'm going to use the Jensen Blackbird and Celestion G12T-75 in an oval back 2x12. This combo sounds really, really great....

I've gone down the EV12L route before, but I wanted something a little more scooped for this amp. The EV12L has no dip in the mids and can be stiff when playing clean IMO, unless you are super loud...
