I had one of those with my 2061X head .... it was a great cab with a big sound. Easy to move around too.
I'm not anything special at recording. @RaceU4her taught me how to mic and I don't do anything to adjust the tone. My recordings are not great, but they give you a very honest idea of my gear.I don’t. Mostly because I still don’t use them as often vs my favorite vintage speakers. I wouldn’t really have the recording skills/knowledge to do a great job anyway lol
Is it true that I could run an amp in my barn with a looper at volume for a while to try and break speakers in?I know you had a bad experience with the H30s, but I wonder did you ever make it to the break in period, because they are a bit fucking tough to deal with before they break in. That is where they are very bright. But i have a good amount of low end in mine. My palm mutes can knock my kids down if I have the cabinet aimed right.
I have heard using pink noise is best. I dont think it really matters. I know it took some hours of heavy volume to break in mine. They arent overall unpleasant before the break in, but you will notice that you are reaching for a bass or depth knob before. They will ring in the highs for awhile. Is it true that I could run an amp in my barn with a looper at volume for a while to try and break speakers in?
I heard Dave F. mention he used to do that in his garage when he was young.
Definitely give us your opinionPicking up the 2061cx cab this afternoon.

Here is one with them before the brightness tamed
They weren't like decades old, but they were definitely not brand new either.I know you had a bad experience with the H30s, but I wonder did you ever make it to the break in period, because they are a bit fucking tough to deal with before they break in. Put that bitch outside an open it up. Send the cows running. So first thing I can say after a test run this morning is that there is a bit less flubb and a more focused tone. Tighter.
I wanna say it sounds a little bigger. I don’t mean physically, obviously it’s bigger sized.
My bluesbreaker style cabinet is oversized with an open back. Scumback M75PVC. Gets pretty flubby pretty quick. Sounds great around four on volume with PS2 doing its thing. Any more and if starts to flubb. I feel with the 2061 cab and different speakers I’ve got a tighter, more held together tone. More breakup with less flub. Obviously the small room I’m in isn’t helping tone. 2061 sounds great, speakers seem just fine to me at first spin.
My barn reminds what my amps really sound like. When I can rip at volume without the PS2.
