Cleaning up some old records today and came across this, funny story.

A friend got me backstage in ’98 when VH toured down under. I took the opportunity to get this signed - Eddie went first, then handed it to Alex… he went to pass it to Gazza. Not on my watch. I reached for it and said to the decadent dancer it’s ok, we’re cool. He scoffed and walked off, like I had said his mother wants an all day sucker. Seriously, in which universe would someone want him to deface this classic?

Mark was busy hitting on some girls so I didn’t bother, but glad I got to chat to the brothers. Eddie is what I expected, just a pleasure. Chatty, friendly, and modest. Alex was little stiffer, but cool.

Show was ok, but Gary was painful to watch. He did a cartwheel at some point, weird shit.

Ha! That was the show I attended.
that in a nutshell is a great example of why GC is weird to me. some frontmen like roth plant perry axl are just born to be rock legends. and others try so hard but just come across awkward.

at this point i’d rather watch this cover band at 10:47 in than vince or gary

Before. Maybe that explains his delicate mood. Or maybe it was because he knew he was the fourth favourite VH singer, even though they only had three.
How right you are. Roth > Hagar > Mitch Malloy > Cherone. Besides, only jerks have GC as their initials :D

If Cherone ever decided to officially make the switch, I found the right theme song:

I bet he slipped on puke from when someone lost their cookies, hearing him try to sing "You Really Got Me".
