pics of 20 year old rack rigs proves racks arent dead?

Racks never died, it just became more common to see a fullsize head mounted with a bunch of outboard gear. It's still the safest and most efficient way for a touring band to move their equipment around.

Man, Snow Patrol are so unbelievably terrible. Wouldnt matter what they play through, it would still be turd.

HEY dude-- don't fuck with this thread ... P L E A S E..... :(

I wanted this to be something cool, for the guys who ARE into this stuff, and if you're not that's fine... Start your own thread about plugging straight in, and I promise not to come in and rain on your parade.

Do you think I could get you to please remove your purist "plug straight in, statement", from a thread which CLEARLY isn't about that? I get that you probably just meant it in a harmless way, but I don't want those who would perhaps not be so friendly, to follow suit.

Thanks...

PS IF you do have pics of rigs that you think would fit in to the theme here, FEEL free to post those, please.

Believe me, I am no purist... Nor was I preaching. I simply put it up for a quick giggle.

And if you see this as an attempt at raining on your parade... Then, wow! But not to worry... This open warfare shall come to an end at once.

Good morning to you too.

Thanks brother... I wasn't sure what to think to be honest, but I did write, "I get that you probably just meant it in a harmless way, but I don't want those who would perhaps not be so friendly, to follow suit."--

Are the stars out of alignment or what? Newcomers to the forum starting shit though with respected members here, or anyone, won't be tolerated. You know who you are and consider yourself warned. This isn't the place to pick your arguments and vent. For those that need to post some clips to prove something, there is a sub-forum for it. For Buckwheat, be careful. It is a free forum and a privilege - and as such, you can abide by the rules, or move on.

Just thought this was ironically appropriate

No that is a friend of mentoneman (Pat), named Brad, playing through my rack. Good guitarist and singer, but that was me (zachman5150) who left the comment. You're most welcome re: the comment I left...

Who needs fake cones,i think this thread gave everybody wood.
However i still don't understand some of these rigs, all the FX you would think the natural tone of the amp
would be long gone. :(

When you run them W/D, or W/D/W and use a mixer-- you don't compromise the original guitar to amp tone, because it doesn't go through any AD/DA conversion. ;)

The way my rig is setup:

I can run:

Mono
Dual mono W/D
Stereo w/ the option to route the dry signal into the cabs in parallel to the wet signal.
W/D/W
WD/D/WD
D/D/D
W/W/W

I was a rack guy for 80% of my time playing but thanks to advances in technology, I can enjoy the benefits of MIDI powered rigs in the traditional head and pedalboard setup which I prefer. In the end, to each his own but I personally have no need for bulky racks and can accomplish alot of the same things without. Dont get me wrong, I think that theyre cool but they just arent for me anymore as Ive learned to do what I need without them..

Kage

+1

I used to do the rack thing also but just don't see the need any more. They do look impressive. :D
