Mesa treated Fluff super unfairly imo

I guess we should expect this kind of reaction from Gibson. God forbid they let it out, how it really went down. At least Fluff did right by the man who really made Mesa what it was, along with Mike B and the rest.
 
Ya know, I don't really like Fluff, I don't think he's a very impressive guitarist, and I typically don't like people that use YouTube as their source of income. I think it's cheating and total crap. However, he does do some pretty informative stuff from time to time. But, all that said, fuck Gibson for doing that to him.
 
Spilling major confidential, behind the scenes information without expressed permission, and then NOT expecting some kind of retaliatory action? Either this guy is incredibly stupid or he knew exactly what he was doing. Either scenario doesn’t bode well for his character.
 
if the info was suppose to be " hush hush " and he knew that ..... then he fucked up ..

if they told him it was " hush hush " after the fact ....... well ........ it's a douchey way of doing things .... but .... it's their company ...

doesn't sound like any one sent him an email saying .... " please don't let out Randall got fired " though ....

I love Randall .... I'd like to think his " free minded " ass told them to go F-ck themselves when he walked out

Yeah I agree with all of this. Exactly what I’d type.

I’ll add that yes Randall got paid for his company and isn’t exactly without compensation. I also remember reading somewhere that he wanted to spend more time with family.
 
Big companies don’t like the truth to get out when stuff like this happens. Just how it goes. If you’re an employee for them, which I consider Fluff as an artist and getting paid by them, best not to put this kind of stuff out there for the world to see. Unless you don’t give a fuck about the income and are truly upset and want the word about it to get out, which may have been the case, who knows.

I mean, there was a press release. It said “Randall is no longer with the company”.

People can infer what they like. It wasn’t his business to say Randall was fired. In the real world people know what that means. He had a relationship with Mesa AND Randall I assume, and that’s a sticky spot. Putting something in writing is going to have fallout. I’m sure he had to know that was a possibility.

Even though I’m not at all a fan of Ryan’s tones and all that, I’d never mistake him for stupid. He’s not a dumb guy. Perhaps just an oversight in judgement?

It also didn’t say in the vid he’s blackballed from ever working with them again. They’re giving him a public slap on the wrist.

I honestly doubt a YouTuber of his size makes enough to be financially ok with losing Mesa, and agree that he should’ve known it was coming, but I still applaud anyone who stands up for what they believe- especially considering other people were already saying it when he posted. Was it the best decision for himself? Debatable for sure, but his call. I see it as him deciding he didn’t want to work with Mesa after they fired randall- he still said the reissues are really good

At least Henry J. had integrity.
 
It’s not Mesa anymore. It’s Gibson. A sue happy company. Looking at it from this perspective he’s lucky they don’t single him out further for some stupid reason like defamation. Gibson sucks ass at company image policy. If they cared half as much about company image as they did the quality products they would go a lot farther.

Honestly now that Mesa is a part of Gibson I’d personally distance myself as far as possible from them if I were in the YouTube income business. They have an awful track record.
