Most disappointing amp

That can really depend on which revision you tried and even the best revisions need very unconventional settings, but I’m guessing they probably still wouldn’t be your cup of tea, but can be some of the best when used for the appropriate styles

Honestly there are quite a few those that just get mentioned privately partly to avoid drama or disrespect, but I agree it would be nice if more info was public on here, but compared to most other places we’re still pretty good about that on here

Yep! This one might be obvious, but way back in the day I bought an Orange Tiny Terror. I think it had one 12ax7. Oooh cool I thought, good grab and go practice amp.

Epic fail. I'd rather listen to my wife play Enter Sandman on a kazoo.

i totally get it, i've definitely felt that way about certain amps over the years across forums. just best to avoid the shitshow that would ensue.
 
I will say this. Reza does an incredible job of giving me a great idea of what an amp sounds like. I dont know why.

But i had a monomyth modded marshall, and ot sounded nothing like the video. Maybe i was retarded at dialing in?????!

Idk, but it was very impressive as a wall of sound, but that only lasted so long for me. It was definitely most gain i have ever had on tap in an amp.

Two things:

1 i specifically got one without a loop which was retarded. I needed to have a loop to gate it, because all that gain comes at a cost.

2 I may just hate Jose style amps, because they are dark quiet butthole. I absolutely hated a gower modded marshall i played also.

Shay was amazing to work with, and i was almost lucky enough to try a skeleton key the other day, but i missed my chance. I would love to put it through paces and heard good things from someone i trust.

So please dont think I am talking shit about Shea or Dan. I respect both guys and think they probably make great amps. But fuck Jose style shit. My mgl has a Jose saturation that i keep firmly off because it sounds like shit
