I was just commenting because the most liked comment on that post is a basic anti yngwie diatribe (very tgp of them)

He's not even my favorite guitarist or anything, he just functions as a Rorschach blotter for guitar players

Hey man, I'm just the messenger here - everyone knows what i'm saying is true unless they're lying to themselves lol

It's not even like a "you have to like yngwie and he has to be your favorite guitarist" thing - it's more the people who hate yngwie and pretend he doesn't have any restraint and is just fast fast fast all the time are full of shit, and most of the time are projecting the fact that they don't practice enough. If "playing fast takes no talent" then you have an excuse to be lazy fuck who doesn't work on your technique, speed, and accuracy.... and what do you know, literally every single one of the people saying shit like that falls into that category.

1. Yngwie has BB King level vibrato - he's absolutely incredible and his sense of pitch is unrivaled
2. he doesnt pick every note like MAB or other two way pick slanters. his runs have an earthy, volcanic, natural sound because of it.
3. if any of those TGP types had actually ever listened to yngwies music besides "Black Star" and live solo improvs, they would actually know 1 and 2 are true, and would say something like "yeah not my cup of tea but definitely a monster player"

instead, they just pretend he's a hack - instead of someone who worked really hard and became a monster player and is actually underrated because of all the tan pants faggots who never practice anything except sliding the top of major and minor diads between their chord voicings at 65 bpm to pretend they're a fucking jazz cunt.

I'm personally way more partial to other dudes (kai hansen, andre olbrich, jon drenning) as far as lead playing, but yngwie hate (not just not being into his shit, but actual hate) is one of the most reliable ways to determine someone sucks and is lazy about practicing the guitar TBH

99.9999% of people that shit talk Yngwie have zero chance of ever being able to play as fast as him, much less playing notes that make sense that fast.
