My God...what happened to Queensryche???

Same reason why all our cool bands suck now! They tried to be something they will never be. ZZ, Stones, etc. Pretty much did the same thing every album with little tweaks. Not lets be progressive, or let's be sludge rock whatever. QR dead after Empire to me!

To help with everyone's recovery efforts, watch the following video as many times as necessary:

Just had to chime in again on this one. I played a few seconds (about as much as I could stand) of everything post-Empire, and it's just amazing to me how poor the songwriting is!

Then at the end of my workday Anybody Listening? came on the iPod on a shuffle and blew my mind! Epic and powerful rock music at its finest! I also have Warning, RFO and Mindcrime on vinyl, as well as the EP on a limited edition cassette.

My brother and I saw them a few years back and we were by far the youngest ones there, but damn it was great! Saw them prior to that once also but Chris had already left:(

I heard some clips of the upcoming album. Geez, is this really the same band that recorded Warning, Rage For Order and Mindcrime? Holy shit. I mean, I understand growing and evolving as a band but this is nothing like the band I remember. It really sucks. I remember reading not too long ago where the band members were saying this is music that is good for listening to with iPods, and people on the go. I guess that is translation for "sucky".

RIP Queensryche. Time to call it a day.

What happened is that when Chris Degarmo left 70% of Queensryche left

+1

From their highly anticipated upcoming album, "Operation Earcrime", I present the following:

It is hard to believe that the band themselves would release such crap. Why does Eddie trunk kiss ass to all these bands and say that they new stuff kicks ass?

I kept buying & hoping, but........nothing. American Soldier was last one I bought , listened 1 time, no dice

Guess I'm the only one that heard some redeeming features in American Soldier :scared: The last great CD IMO was Promised Land. I loved the whole thing. Some of Tribe was okay. 3 or 4 songs on Mindcrime 2 were great too.

Totally agree, what happened to them ?!

But... always put their shit on and crank it up and party

If there is one 80's metal band that really does still have what it takes it's Accept...Blood of Nations really rocks.
These other 80's bands that are recording should use them as the standard of what they should produce.
If it doesn't measure up.....don't release it and go back to the drawing/writing board.
Simple rule....don't release a bunch of crap just to be doing it. Make it real or throw it out.

Jeff pimped his wife and daughter as dancers for this. So lame!

Ya know, that's what I have been saying too, but looking back Chris was actually there for Promised Land, Hear In The Now Frontier and Tribe, all of which sucked save for a couple songs.

So there's no excuse. At least Chris knew when to hang it up. They should go into retirement along with Metallica.

I agree. Chris had nothing to do with it. Empire was the end. I also feel Def Leppard can hang it up.

Ahhh man... I'd forgotten about that whole episode. Makes the Mindcrime II sharkjump look like an iconic metal album. :aww:

I really wanted to. I liked the premise and hoped that it would be Geoff's redemption for his leftist political preaching at concerts. But it wasn't. It was utterly forgettable to me on each of the several times I gave it a listen and really TRIED to like it.

Will have to check that out. Thanks!

And I totally agree with what you said. When you're a band that put-out one of the most iconic metal albums of all-time (Mindcrime)... WHY OH WHY OH WHY would you continue to put-out utter CRAP and not be embarrased and ashamed? I guess it's like so many other celebs who start to believe their own hype after years and really do think that they lay golden turds, and the sheeple stand around their royal bungholes awaiting the next treasure.

Over the years I've even thought about joining a QR forum just so I could say "WHY do you suck SO hard now" in hopes that SOMEONE could get through to them.If the product you produce SUCKS, then go back to the drawing board again and try something else. Or take a 5-10 year hiatus and recharge your completely spent batteries. I'm only bitter and angry about their slide to oblivion because I care (which seems to be more than they can say). :(

Have to agree with this thread......... I saw the Empire tour back in 90-91 when they did the whole Mindcrime live and it was incredible. A couple years later I saw them again, I think it was for Promised Land tour and it was really lame. All scaled down and grungy. :lame: The last album I bought was HINF and thought it sucked & have never bought or listened to anything after that....

That Empire Tour sure was something special though! Definitely in my Top 5 all time concerts!

My bro saw that tour in Portland and I've always been jealous. All I've got is the Live Crime DVD for memories of that tour. But at least it's awesome. I've bought a couple of their live DVDs since and the last one I bought (Live at the Moore) I gave away to a "less discriminating" friend soon after buying it... LOL. I watched the first 3 songs and took it out of the player in disgust. At least I got it on clearance.
