NAD Wizard MTL MKII

Did mine unboosted here. The MTL is such a badass amp even on its own. But man OP and Nick got me to boost mine and it goes on another level with that… just ridiculous.

Sick right? I use the Fortin hexdrive with the gain at 3 and it makes the amp breathe fire

Yeah man, I had it going with my od808, just incredible. Need to record that too. Really love mine, it is absolutely top tier and among my favorites that I own. So fun to play. Got an MC too I need to record although that amp I always boost.
Are the MTL and MC very different from each other?

Always boost !

So yesterday I spent the evening with a couple of fellow gear nerds like myself. We had some cool amps - Mesa Boogie Trident / some Engl stuff and the Wizard. We played the rest and left the MTL for the last part thru a Marshall 1960 straight T75/ V30s X pattern. Dialed pretty much my favorite settings but this time no saturation and the gain at 4. The guy who first played the first chords almost s@%t himself hahaha No wonder why he kept playing for 30 mins or so. Hell even the cleans are so damn nice as well! Crystal clear! We used some delay and reverb too - top notch tone guys!
The clarity and definition are spectacular - They all agreed it's the best amp they've ever played.
As for the bright knob I had it lower this time at 4 as that cab is kinda bright.

Comparing that amp to a stiletto trident or Engl’s is like taking candy from a baby. Compare it to some worthy rivals

I actually also literally sold a stage II trident I had due to the Wizard mc I had at the time

Was that a cry for help?
Yes. At least 10 years ago I swore I would never pop big for a brand new amp again. At that time around 3k was pretty much the standard big price for a new amp. Then I stopped buying amps altogether around 3 years ago because nothing was gonna be better than the top five in my collection. But I've always wanted a Wizard, and these new models are just brutal. I could pop big for one, but I've had everything paid off for a couple of years now. No debt, great credit rating and big savings has been very psychologically satisfying. But that means I am not contributing to what I believe is the core mission of this forum. I feel like I am failing rigtalk. Monkeyman and jackbootedthug are threatening to ban me.
