Apologies if this isn't the right place to ask, but tried looking for a posting of general forum rules, and searching for the specific topic after not finding general forum rules or a direct answer in the classified rules, but is the ability to private message subject to the same posting quota as classified posting permissions?
Try it. I think you'll be OK. :dunno:

Don't want to post to him publicly in another thread before checking, as on the face of it, that would seem to break the spirit of the classified permission rules.
Good on ya mate. That's the spirit.

I am more a reader than a poster (at multiple forums). And under different names. And not exactly a new member, been here since 2006 but only 46 posts.

I started posting here recently. I'm also a regular on TGP and several other forums but this place seems geared more towards heavier guitar tones, which I prefer, and seems to have quite a few people around who know what they're talking about as well.

I've lurked here on and off for a while. I haven't been active on any forums for a long time but I'm dipping my feet in the water again. Been pretty firmly in the modeling world for the past 5ish years but playing in both fields again.

I feel new here mainly because I've probably posted more in the past couple of months than the past couple of years.

So backstory I played in a cover band in the early 80’s. Put together a metal band in mid 80’s then left guitar for nearly 10 years. Good friend and awesome bass player got me back into playing in mid 90’s. Put together a more progressive metal band. Got into early forums back n the day. Had a few member changes and took a break again till about two years ago with Rona. Started getting the itch again and seeing all the new fantastic gear available and I started buying gear. Somehow ended up here doing gear searches.

Just a few tunes from my previous band.

Started a YouTube channel just out of boredom

I came here for the booze and chicks.
I hope you are not just spamming our forums so you can get to 50 posts. That is pretty lame. Good luck.

I don't have time to go read all of your posts so If you are not doing that then accept my apology.

Nah man I’m not spamming. I’m just bored and was replying to things I thought were interesting.

I'm definitely new to the forum scene. Generally I had luck just googling certain gear I wanted an opinion on with hits from various forums. I started playing guitar when I was 14. It was a huge part of my high school years. Fell out of touch in my early - mid twenties but have since regained my passion (working from home has helped). Now I look to the fine folks here who have been able to provide their opinions on more specific questions I have. I've only posted one thread so far, but I have enjoyed the warm welcome and the knowledge and opinions of every one here so far!

Cheers,

20 posts in an hour, most on consecutive or the same minutes, does look like spamming, so I well understand where Brother 3's coming from.

To 'cat's credit, at least he made sense, unlike a 🤖.

I get it and apologize. I am most definitely not a bot. Just a bored guy sitting in his room while his wife watches the half time show that she recorded earlier. Which I have absolutely no interest in.

Welcome to all new ideas and posts!!
Of course old ones are good fodder too. Anybody have a Blaze or thoughts on a Larry or Fortin designs?

Hi guys,
it is quite simple. TGP is blooze lawyers/emo noisemakers hypercorrect club, sevenstring is too 'young and modern', Harmony central is dead :) RT is in the middle with respect for vintage and modern gear. I'm from Czech Republic and there are very few guys with interest or knowledge in these kind of amps like Camerons, IICs, Metropoulos etc.

... While I don't play 80's stuff at all, I learned a hell of a lot from 80's guitarists tone tips and then subtracted chorus, insane reverb and delay and found out they had it right.
This. This right here, is so true :)
