Looking forward to it coming out. I am a more recent Rush convert.

My expectations are low after Snakes and Arrows. The last Rush album I really liked was Counterparts. I am missing Vapor Trails in the collection, but still.

If I posted what my favorite Rush song was, I would probably be banned from this board, but I actually appreciate a good number of their albums after Moving Pictures.

^ You will love the new Rush release. Unless you're completely nuts!! lol

Listen to the whole thing at least 5 times and it will start to digest. Rush is not usually immediate gratification type music. Spend a little time and the payoff is unreal. Remember this is not 4/4 time music, and they're not singing about chicks & drugs, except of course the awesome "A Passage To Bangkok"

Regarding your comment on the albums post Moving Pictures, there are tons of tracks from those records that rank among their best ever.

Rush allow whatever music they are digging on at any moment to influence their writing. They don't care what the fans or critics expect them to record. They have always done exactly what they want regardless of record sales or whining from some fans. You don't have to love all of their experiments but you must respect them for doing what the hell they want. This is the attitude that has kept them excited about doing music all these 40 years, while most band have burnt out long ago recording the same shit over a over.

I don't love every song they've ever recorded, but I can honestly say I love 90% of them. And for a group that has about 190 studio tracks recorded, that's saying a lot.

My Wife and I have pretty good low level seats when the new tour hits in October. Saw them last year as well in a 93 degree humid outdoor venue and at least seven times in the past. They have and still continue to put on one of the best musical performances I have witnessed.

Rush is weird. I love prog and that they certainly are. The music is great but I can't get past Geddy Lee's voice.

I love Rush blindly. They could rap a turd in tin foil and I'd buy it. They can do no wrong.

Plenty of rap and turds on the Roll the Bones album.

And I dig every shitty minute of it! :D

Ive got pretty close floor seats for the Sept. show in Pitts...cant wait..
nothing for nothing- I like every single Rush album, from the first clear to the last.Amen.

cool, I will check out Clockwork Angels. I know about listening a few times. It usually takes me 3 to 5 listens before I really love a Rush Album. My top 5 are 2112, Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures, Signals, and Presto. Crest of Steel is probably the one Rush album, I just don't 'get'.

My favorite Rush album is A Farewell to Kings, followed closely by Hemispheres. I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with esp since this new release is some sort of concept album.

Geddy Lee is a big part of why I play a Rickenbacker 4001 bass. (Chris Squire too)

Yes, Farewell and Hemispheres are both excellent albums. I wore cassettes out listening to them..If Caravan is any indication of whats to come,I cant wait...I sat down on the couch last night, cranked the surround and watched the time machine tour....couldnt turn it off till it was over

Best Rush album evahh..

My introduction to Rush was Power Windows and Presto, and I thought it sucked. It wasn't until years later that I heard 2112 and Hemispheres via some bandmates and really started to like them. Never been a huge fan I've grown to really like most of their stuff. I agree though, you have to appreciate the way they seem to just do whatever they want, and there's no denying the talent level.

I have Clockwork Angels on pre-order. This is only the 2nd time I have ever pre-ordered an album. :)

Hopefully I can go see them when they go to Chicago later this year.

...............go see them while you can and while theyre playing at 100% yet...they pull off so much stuff live, its crazy!

A Farewell to Kings (Xanadu) got me into guitar back in '77. But I discovered Rush in '75 quite by accident; was actually looking for a Pavlov's Dog album;

and ended up with Caress of Steel instead! Been a fan ever since.
