I dig it apart from the drum production, which has that brick-wall modern sound ... video is funny as hell

That was good stuff. I like this one even better though. In some parts, I get a bit of a Vertical Horizon vibe from it.

Good for him... especially bouncing back from losing his dad. Not really my particular cup of tea but I dig a good riff and driving beat. I can picture this song in movie soundtracks like a bar fight scene or something lol.

No worries. We all have different opinions. I don’t wish him ill will. Maybe I’m completely wrong and he’ll have a chart topper or a platinum album.
I’m with you on this Dave. It’s certainly not bad, but if this was some no-name band trying to make it through the ranks it would probably would get passed by without a second look.

Reminds me of the guitarist standing at the back of the room with his arms folded who's critiquing the shit out of the player on stage.

:D
Yeah, like the time I was watching Jackyl in the early days and literally said out loud “these guys will never get signed”. It wasn’t 6 months and they had a deal. So, what the fuck do I know? :D

Not at all, I’m just giving an honest opinion

Can you write, track, sing, produce, and record anything better? I’m not saying you’re not allowed to have your own opinion. You absolutely are. But unless you’ve got some originals lying around that blow that song away, your negative critique of someone else’s artistic creation comes off as petty. That’s just my honest opinion. I may be 100% wrong here, but seriously, post some of your stuff up. Let us hear it. How does your original material stack up to what you’re criticizing?

😂 Give me a fucking break dude.

One break....coming up

I loved everything about this track. Kind of wanted a solo though, but songwriting, performance, energy, mix, tones- this is a damn near perfect hard rock song. Funny studio stuff is the cherry on top

So, I'll try to summarize the above argument with a metaphor. If I I watch a plane crash, I can say with certainty that the pilot landed like shit. I don't need to fly planes to qualify that, nor do I need to demonstrate that I can land a plane better to say that the pilot landed like shit. I don't get paid to land planes, or have the time to perfect every craft that I see and evaluate on a daily basis. I think certain cars look like shit, but I don't design them, and I certainly don't have to post my car designs to prove that I think certain cars look like shit, or even that my critique is valid or not. I'm not sure where this logic trap came from.

And yes, I get it, art is subjective, and that Wolfie I'm sure has talents and whatnot. But the umbrage that people take when other people don't like stuff they like is bizarre.

Exactly why I refuse to waste my time 👍🏻

No one is saying you can have an opinion, but when it comes to this particular case, guitarists criticizing music others create, especially when they don’t create any themselves, is just lame to me. (I’m not saying here that those who’ve criticized this track in this thread haven’t created good music, but we just don’t know, do we?)

No one is saying you have to like what other people like, there’s no way we’re all going to like the same things. Why would we even want to? I’m basically saying that it ain’t that easy to write a great or even a good song. It’s super easy and takes no courage or talent to criticize those who do write songs and put them out there for the world to listen to. And I know some of these guys who don’t think this track is all that are excellent players. So that has nothing to do with what I’m saying. It’s hard to write a decent song. I applaud anyone who can or has.

It's all good. I don't have to be a chef to say I don't like a meal. My lame-beef is more along the lines of:

"Well, the meal was OK but if he wasn't Tom Colicchio's son no one would even book a table."

Was the meal ok or not?
No need for any caveats.

My vote for fave Wolfie?
The engineer rubbing his temples at the end when the producer asks if the track can be fixed. :ROFLMAO:

Lots of thoughts have been lost in translation. Nobody is saying Wolfie doesn’t have talent. Shit, he played bass all across the world with his father. That’s a feat in itself.

A few of us don’t like the song presented in this thread... that’s it. It doesn’t mean we don’t like him or he doesn’t have talent. I personally feel touring with his father and being presented with that opportunity actually hurt his creativity and drive and put out that fire that lots of younger players have coupled with the untimely death of his father.

Interesting thought. Definitely screwed up many a young celebrity who got kinda gifted a spotlight.

What I've seen from the guy so far, while maybe not being of high originality, is pretty damn solid,
and it sure looks like he's taking on most of the work himself. Lots of creativity and drive there.
Just not to everyone's liking.

I hear what you’re saying here. You have every right to say you don’t like something. More power to you. On the other hand, you certainly aren’t shy about posting a negative opinion. I’ve been around here a long time. I can say with near certainty that if someone posts up a band or song they like, it’s at least an 80% chance that you’re gonna say you don’t like it or it’s not that good. Along those lines, I can say with 100% certainty that if someone posts a thread about a SLO, you’re going to chime in with how overrated they are or how they do nothing for you. It’s like clockwork.

But again, you have every right to speak your mind. I pretty much knew when I saw this thread and then listened to the track that you were going to say something negative about it, how it wasn’t that good. You do it a lot, man. You’re super critical, which is fine, maybe even good for all I know. You’re calling it like you see it just as I am here. You’re a killer guitarist with the best Marshalls I’ve ever heard, but dang if you aren’t super critical of other people’s original material. 🙂
