And you have to verify with your ID to watch porn. To "protect" the chillins. Welcome to the nanny state.
This question now before the Supreme Court whether EVERYONE has to do this shit.
YOU GONNA GIVE A COPY OF YOUR ID TO A PORN SITE ?
F-no.

"PornHub has now disabled its website in Texas," said Attorney General Ken Paxton, "because Texas has a law that aims to prevent them from showing harmful, obscene material to children. In Texas, companies cannot get away with showing porn to children. If they don't want to comply, they should leave Texas."

Both sides say the Supreme Court's ruling could have a sweeping impact nationwide.

If you are watching pornography you are someone who enables dysfunction and abuse. Obscenity isn't freedom, it's enslavement. Enough of the boomer stuff now go cut some potatoes and mop that scurvy ass floor of yours you gross fat perv.

It’s bizzare that Dan cares what Texas does or bizarre that Texas is putting in safeguards to keep little kids from accessing porn ?

I don’t really care what Texas does. I just think what they are doing is bizzare

It would be great to see it all shut down. Ken Paxton has done a lot for Texas. The only thing I didn't really agree with was when he sued municipalities that decriminalized weed, a case which was tossed out anyways.

The Dan I was referring to wasn’t you.

But your answer is that it’s bizarre to try to keep kids from accessing porn ?

Well I think kids access to porn should be blocked. I’m not sure of any other way to do it than to require ID. Although if I was into porn ( I’m not) I don’t think I would be providing them with my ID.

I think the Texas law is probably going to be struck down, but I think bizarre is not an appropriate adjective to describe it.

I think that's reasonable but there are competing interests of privacy and freedom. Porn companies are not "Showing" porn to kids. Kids are on devices given to them by their school or parents, using internet access provided by the same, using such to look up porn on their own.

The original porn mag, playboy, and hugh hefner, sick puppy that he was, can be tied back to the CIA. That's the beginning of it being tolerated in the public eye. Complete downhill slide into debauchery ever since. How many families have been busted apart by the stuff? Broken families mean people with less opportunity, a higher likelihood of criminal behavior, etc etc.The sexual revolution has destroyed more lives than probably anything else save for maybe the influx of hard drugs onto the streets. I don't think the TX law will get struck down so I hope you are wrong about that part.

I think it’s bizarre to ask for a copy of your ID. Would you have joined Rig Talk if you had to upload a copy of your ID to them?

Or would you have said “fuck that place”
Why would someone need an ID to talk about guitars?

Honestly, if that was a requirement, I just wouldn't do online stuff anymore. Not really a big loss to me though I do love rig talk cause of the people who hang out here.

kids should not be reading the OTC here any differently than watching porn. The court is considering all “adult” material in the internet, not just nudity

I will not be uploading my ID on the internet in any forum. Bizarre is not the appropriate adjective. Well, I guess it could be to you. Most normal people think bizarre is something abnormal. I don’t think requiring ID to do “ Adult” things is abnormal. Do you think requiring ID to buy cigarettes, alcohol, guns or plane tickets is bizarre ?

I'm ok with restricting a kid's access to phones and internet. If the entire world wide web died tomorrow there would be a lot to celebrate. Sure, there would be some drawbacks but we could get back to a slower pace of life plus guitar magazines would make a comeback.

Yeah I agree. There are probably other less intrusive ways to do it.

I'm cooler with kids having access to that stuff than to porn. Cigs, booze, and guns are pretty much staples of a homestead. A note from a parent should suffice for a kid grabbing ammo and a carton of marbs for pop.

it is abnormal. Have you ever had to upload a copy of your ID to do anything online before?
