EVH was way too much of an inspiration to me growing up to not recognize him. He left way too soon. I’ll always be grateful for his contributions to music and revolutionizing the guitar forever.

He lived an incredible life and influenced millions of us. A true hero.

A friend of mine just texted me the TMZ announcement of his passing. Really sad... I didn't see this one coming. I remember there were rumors sometime last year that the cancer had come back but nothing was ever confirmed about that.

Sad day for a true innovator of guitar.....

This is almost unfathomable. After this, there won’t ever be a “bigger” death in the rock guitar community ever again. RIP to a master, innovator, and true legend.

We still have some major legends left but god damn, this is big. Sad day indeed. Was just listening to Women and Children First and again, still now after all these years, it impresses on such a creative level.
