RIP legend...
I can say with no hesitation that when the first album came out, it pretty much blew every guitar players pants off. Everyone I knew who played was stabbing at Eddies stuff trying to figure it out. There was no internet to learn it from, you had to go see them and then try to figure out what he was doing.
He left a mark, no doubt about it...

WTF???
We just got mowed down by sally and have a cat 4 coming up the chute...
All we have left for 2020 is plagues of locust's and the trumpet sounds

Truly a very sad day. Can't even express any more right now.

Prayers and thoughts out to the VH family.

Rest in peace, EVH. You were a true prodigy that changed rock guitar forever. You'll be sorely missed but always remembered.

Prayers for you and your family.

Shredding licks with Dimebag now...

With you on that brother. Lost my Dad to cancer in March, my Aunt to it in August, my cousin to it a few weeks ago. Cancer can suck a big bag of dicks. Fuck cancer and fuck the dumpster fire of a year that is 2020. RIP EVH.

Eruption changed guitar forever in 1:42 seconds.

RIP Eddie.
Feels like a tectonic plate of the guitar world has shifted today for me. To have touched and influenced millions and millions of lives is a life well lived.
Thank you EVH for existing in our lifetime.

This is an odd year indeed... would be interesting to compare it to other years over the last 100 and see if there were any other real bad lemon years. I'm sure when Elvis died, that whole generation mourned in the same way. I think this is the new norm, all of our influences and rock gods are going to be headed to the exit door before long. Cancer doesn't discriminate sadly. From young little children who have just started their lives to people in their mid 40's-60's who still have a ton of life to live. Mortality, what a ride. Thankful we've got the music to hold on to though. Nobody can ever erase that and it can continue to inspire kids for generations.

Met and talked to Ed at NC State basketball auditorium in 82. Very down to earth cool guy. The last few years with people saying he was an ass were probably mistaking his distraught condition that worsening as the years went by. You take care Eddie, you were one hell of a musician.

Howard Stern was talking about how Ed would call him all the time to talk. One of Howard's workers, Craig Gass, talked about when he lived at Ed's house and how awesome Ed was for real. Listen to Howard for a lot of great talk with old audio clips of Ed.

Yea.. old Reynolds collisieum? Didn't realize they'd played there. Cool stuff.

When I first heard Eddie it was like he ripped a new asshole in the ozone.

Words can not possibly describe what a tremendous loss this is.

RIP Edward
