5 shots of Aberlour Scotch single malt.

Works for me. :)
ooohhh,nice!

Hope everything works out for you ,Thump. Nice looking home. Be glad you don't live in the Bay Area. Median home price is 750K! And that's for something that does not look half as nice as yours. Insanity!

$200k? Don't feel bad, there are no houses in my area for that, not even a condo...

er, that's sterling. more like $400,000 for a POS.

house prices here have gone up about 600% in the past 10 years...

So how do people afford mortgages? 5 years ago, you could buy a house in NI for £60,000 easy. Now, its just shot up to 200k on average, but wages dont change. Sucks balls.

aye, we (meaning my parents) bought our house for like £65k 10 years ago. our next door neighbour (same exact style of house) is selling this week, offers around £300k.

problem is, people don't seem to realise you aren't making anything unless you have more than one house.

Speaking of POS, can you help figure out a way for HMJ not to suck?

make him join the br00tal gainz krew.

That's the same problem as here. Then we have loads of people who want a house so badly that they throw reason out the window and agree to these ridiculous loans and essentially set themselves up for failure. We're about to see some real ugliness here in the way of foreclosures.

agreed... and then if interest rates go up even a quarter of one percent, they're screwed.

"6 times gross salary loan? i'd be stupid NOT to take it!"

Congrats man!!! I'm going through the same thing right now - moving in our new house on the 22nd.

Good luck!

Yeah, I thought the US was bad. The UK is unbelievable.

^ i guess i can take consolation that i'm not in London, lol. There it's like $600,000 for a 1 bedroom appartment...

though, at least London is somewhere you might actually want to be. Makes no sense with Northern Ireland/Ireland.

You think the UK is bad? In Australia 90% of people live in 3 cities, 3 tiny cities.

No one from my generation will own a house, no one. renting is getting hard, 30-50 people competing from a POS apartment.

Congrats on the house. I saw he picture and thought that side with the window at the bottom should have a door for loading and unloading gear. Instead of a sidewalk maybe a small driveway. That way people dont see you loading expensive gear up.

And not haveing big yards rocks. Less grass to cut, more time to play.

Yo Bitch, Congrats on the new digs!!!! Where ya gonna be??? Edwardsville, Bellville???

Drop me an e-mail!!

I have no idea how people are affording them. If I had to buy today I couldn't afford my house.

Dang, that's a huge increase, then again, that's what happened here too, some years back.

A friend of mine who is a real estate agent in Oregon has people signing up for loans with a duration of 100 years on a regular basis.

Congrats on the house Chris!

Yup- just like inheriting (possible) assets you are also inheriting your parents debt should they have some left over. You can get around this by declining, but I guess the aforementioned contracts cover that.

Nice looking front... where's the gut shots? I want to see the finished basement. That's what I'm missing... a house with a basement worth finishing :(

seems a bit off to me, i dunno...

NICE!!!!

That little cubby hole by the stairway.... Make a doorway, eggshell sound dampening stuff and you've got a perfect recording room! ;)

LOL! You probably can't see this too well in the tour, but there is a decent sized room in the back part of the basement with a door, closet, and no windows. It's a perfect office, fourth bedroom, or MUSIC ROOM! Heck yeah!

I haven't quite figured out what to do with that little cubby hole just yet. The current owners have it setup as a gaming area for the kids. Video games, TV, stuff like that. That's a good idea too.

When I was in school, a friend of mine's Dad grew his weed in the "cubby"..... It smelled like a skunk farted in the basement......

"Casa-de-Thump" looks like a kick-ass place for sure!!

Holy Crap Thump! That basement is unbelievable! The rest of the house is awesome too but as a Californian I am incredibly jealous of that basement or ANY basement. Do they even include the square footage of the basement when they list square footage for a house back there?

And someone commented on your yard being kind of small. Out here that yard would be huge. The builder could have fit 9 other houses on your property the way these guys do it out here.

Congrats!

Beautiful house! Conga-RATS!

Youll need a riding mower (get a John Deere) or pay a crew of wet-backs. Can I say wet-back here???

How many kids you have now, Chris? 7-8? Make sure you get yourself a TV for the bedroom now.
