You said they got weaker and slower.

The great southern trend kill has some of the fastest and most agressive songs they have ever written and it is also one of their final albums.

Not to mention a couple of the songs have the heaviest breakdowns they have ever written along with a lot more of their Down esque southern groove. Not really sure what you're even talking about tbh.

I thought for the most part, that album sucked too. Great Southern Trendkill the song is bad ass and there are a few goodies but overall, major drop off on song writing after Far Beyond Driven. Solos were always awesome though.

There ain't no Pantera without the bros Abbott. Phil was just icing on the cake and now the cake is gone.
As much as I love Pantera, I really like Down as well.

Of course, as much as I love Priest, I thought that first (maybe only?) Fight album was bad ass!

Agree 100%. FBD was a killer and all around stronger album. Trendkill had moments of greatness but unfortunately just as much filler.

I know it's not a popular opinion but Panteras shift from thrash with some melody to "groove" metal for white trash was one of the biggest missed opportunities in metal.

They became big but could have been so much better. The first half of CFH is like a window into what they should have been.
The solos on cowboys is his best but on vulgar they became their own entity . I love cowboys but the the next 3 albums are def better. It took me awhile to like like Phil’s vocals on CFH . I didn’t like his 80s influenced voice at all
But I like it more now

For once we're in total agreement lol
